posted a message on Valve is Trademarking DOTA

Could these companies stop fucking around and accually come up with games that isn't halfbread and fucked up around each corner, instead of spending their resources on such things?

I would normally hate the kind of reply you gave the gm email, but then again blizzard did implement the popularity system so any kinda of flame that can fall upon them is fair game from my side.

The popularity system alone is enough reason for me to never buy blizzard games again tbh.

I also cancelled my wow account payment and stated the reason as: "Popularity system in starcraft 2"

posted a message on Starcraft in the Olympic Games!

There was the same talk about starcraft broodwars, but unfortunatly that didn't happen. I doubt it'll happen for for starcraft 2. Though at some point I would love to see a game in the Olympics – I doubt it would be starcraft 2, but any game would be good to have tbh.

One thing is for sure, there is more people interested in starcraft than fx curling -.-

posted a message on Blizzard's letter about Nexus Word Wars

I don't really mind them banning a map if it uses bad words, I just think they should start banning players aswell.

    - instant ban to whoever uses the word "retard" and we would be heading down the rightious path!

Or atleast fixing my starcraft crashing when I try to play custom/coop/ffa games.

    stupid blizzard.

It is pretty easy to do the terrain, but to make lightning that looks real seems to be a bit hard, but it might just be due to me not having any major diving experience :D

posted a message on document size bug

I am not sure how this happened. but was working on my small map with only the melee dependencies when saved was 160kb. I added the campaign dependency added gas/mineral items to the map and a few infested marines. now when saved the filesize was 94 mb :O :O I tried deleting the stuff I added and removed the dependency but that only reduced the 94 mb to 93 mb.

I reloaded a previous version and did the same thing again and this time when saved it only made 170 kb.

donno if somebody encountered this bug or have a solution (didnt find one when searched for it) but if you are working on a map dear to you, I would suggest saving often and with different names and keep track of the sizes. only happened to me once, but if I was unable to correct the error in a big map and not have a backup copy I would not been alive to keep write this post.

only happened once for me but be smart!

I have been looking at all water related triggers / settings. no dice with moving lava. I think you require a custom model for this to work - thought somebody else might know something better!

posted a message on What kind of maps do you like?

tbh I think singleplayer maps are some of the most funny things (except ladder games) I might not replay them as much as some custom games but they are the ones that brings me the most joy. I don't have to bear with some laggy noobass slowing down my game or some other crackpot harrasing my probes.

Nah some singleplayer missions where you can take your time, build what you want to build and and feel the map was made just for you! throwing in alot of trigger works and cutscenes makes my joices flowing. I tried you sc1 legacy map and quite enjoyed it!

Though instead of only making singleplayer missions from the starcraft theme, also try take in some inspiration from other games such as empire eartch or ages of empires (brilliant!) where you have to capture stuff, gather stuff and make new alliances to make it out alive...

in any case singleplayer maps rocks imo, though they rarely make the popularity list atleast the persons who decide to play them, like them because they want to play them. tbh a singleplayer map that last two hours would go into my wet dreams anytime!

but then again I am kinda special, I guess to make the map that most people want, you need to remake nexus wars with only nude females instead of units.
