My Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2 remake project already exist and released the multiplayer version of both and campaign of Warcraft 1. Contact us if you are interested in participating.
We are working on a coop campaign mode for the mod similar to the Starcraft 2 commander coop. It means you will be able to collect in game credits by playing our maps and you will be able to unlock different heroes of Warcraft 2 with these credits. Each hero will have altered tech-tree with different play styles including new units, structures, abilities and upgrades. The more altered the tech-tree the more expensive the hero will be. You will be able to choose the default tech tree of both races as a start.
Currently I'm working on the tech-tree of these heroes:
Horde:
Teron Gorefiend: relying on hordes of undead, like skeletal grunts that have a chance to reanimate again, skeletal archers that infest enemies, death knights etc.
Gul'dan: Using warlocks, Daemons and other forbidden units. Using an Altered Warcraft 1 tech tree.
Zul'jin: Trolls. Instantly get Troll berserker upgrade, Dire Trolls, Bear Riders etc.
Cho'gall: Ogre Mage specialist. Instantly get Ogre-Mage upgrade and Bloodlust.
Alliance:
Turalyon: Paladin specialist. Instantly get Paladin and heal, have a greater healing upgrade.
Alleria: Elves. Instantly get Elven Ranger upgrade etc.
Lothar: Leading the remnants of the Stormwind armies. Altered Warcraft 1 tech tree with conjurers, clerics etc.
I know them, back when they started we traded some models, but not since they became large. And the "free sharing assets" they tell is quietly a lie. They are looking for people doing them popular arcade maps of Warcraft 3 in reality. Hopefully we will also get some assets ready next year, but yeah 1-2 additional 3D and/or 2D artist wouldn't hurt.

Really makes me happy they finally do this. Hope they will remaster the Warcraft series also, thou I doubt after last year's Blizzcon.

You can use Renee's Warcraft 3 dependencies. They are public, look on the Warcraft modding section. It's also playable on arcade.
For Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2 remake, my team already working on it and you can play them on arcade by searching coa, wc1 or wc2.
