Alright I think I figured it out, There is something wrong with my smooothing groups, the smoothing groups on the arms and legs are not transfering over from 3ds max for some reason. I cant seem to make them work either. I did detach the arms then reattach them but Thats the only thing different I could think of with the arms.
Okay, I'm back (sorta) with a new sc1 zergling model, (I dubbed it Zergling:REDUX).
Anyways knowing how Things work when I try to use them There is a problem.
The texture has weird clipping issues on it and the symmetry line is really visible. I Didn't want to show anything untill i finished the texture But I'm honestly stuck. All texturing here is by me, so tell me what you think, I really want this problem to go away:
Legs are detached for rigging purposes. Notice the problem areas on the Arms(?) and legs.
Whelp I'm not sure what i'm doing, This community is somewhat entertaining for a while. I guess I'll show off some stuff I've been making, see if anybody's interested. other wise I think I'm going to just try to finish "The Thing revival" model and get going with my own project.
LOL cuttlefish are the best ever!
Hey, Thanks for the input! Yes I do use Photoshop, I was wondering if their was a way to replicate that shiny effect they had on the zerg speculars. Where do I find this plastic wrap adjustment?
Okay I've retextured this little guy, though once again, my texturing skills are no where near the best. This render Is straight from 3ds max. Anyone know how I can recreate that slimy zerg feeling in the startools settings? has a diffuse, normal, and specular map. Also tell me what you think of it, I want to get other opinions. :)
Edit: Oh, also they grey sections are the parts where it will be team colored.
I'm looking at the sc2 zergling texture right now, and I dont think i can make it fit inside my uv settings, but I'm going to repaint my texture using it as a reference.
Finnally got around to texturing the zergling model. My texturing skills are definitely sub-par, but It still looks pretty good to me at least. took me like an hour to get team color to work...
it has a normal and a diffuse currently.
I'm much better at animating then I am at texturing so this next part will be pretty good hopefully.
nope srry, not that guy, never even heard of that game... I've never gone by the name phalanx i've always spelled it Phanalax. notice the position of the letter N.
Personally, I think the World of warcraft ling is really ugy.

I'm not sure what you mean by this...
Try to think of just the general shape of the model, nothing else. Extra small details like little bumps and the colors can be added in with textures. I just want to know If I got the shape somewhere That's okay before I move on. If I make the textures before I finish the model I have to go back and redo almost everything, which I don't want to do. Thats why I'm asking If there is anything else wrong with it.
This any better? I rid the whole back piece and modified the legs a bit, in order to match the picture above. Also inadvertently lowered the poly count slightly while doing so.

Seeya.
@DeltaCadminus lol okay then.
UVW unwrapping hands and complicated objects is the most frustrating thing ever... Almost not worth the effort. >:(
Bananna. Texture needs some work.
@SoulFilcher Which Settings specifically?
@GhostNova91 That plastic wrap filter works beautifully! thanks for telling me about that.
