Thank you so much, I actually went through and learned how to make ui's and character selections that are automated like yours and it takes so long and waste so much time that would be better spent on developing gameplay. Having something like this to just throw in and maybe modify is much better. Hopefully this will speed up some AAA maps.
Option to make it so only people on opposite teams can have the same hero. (example, team 1 can not have 2 zealot heroes, but team 1 and team 2 can each have a zealot hero.) That is important to my map.
edit:: one of my heroes causes lag when the camera faces him..any sugestions? Also, how can you apply a certain camera yaw when you select your hero. Sometimes my heroes are selected and the camera is backwards.
I know your only doing bug fixes from now on. But it would be VERY nice if you added some features to show hero abilities in the hero description or some layout or something for people to do. Otherwise great system!
I had already given that thought but unlike WC3, chances are that heroes will have more abilities than 5 and there are so many variables involved that making an easy to work with system would not only require tons of work, but would also not end up simple at all... so I decided not to do this
great library , i want to use it, but i cant seem to figure out how to give heros a "item" when they pick a hero. For e.g i would like every purchased hero to get a teleportation scroll item that i made.
P.s anyway to have the dialog minimize instead, so that heros can be picked again later on? . for instance my map isnt just 1 hero, you can buy as much as you want, once you have the loot for it.
can i get a special version of this library for those 2 factors? i am really bad at triggers. i only good at the data editor :( .
You can use the action 'Create Inventory Item' for that, this is a default action however, so you will have to appoint who the item goes to
You can create another hero selection later, if you reset it first. This will create it for all players though, but you can change that (or get someone to do it for you)
I've stop developing this one as I feel that it is at a good place in general. It is completely open for anyone to change exactly for mapmakers like you who have special needs for the system. But you will have to find someone to do it for you if you can't...
You mean 1 player getting 2 or more heroes?
That's not in the default interface, but you can create the hero selection a second time (use Reset Hero Selection first, then add heroes again and create it)
Of course it would be prettier to edit the library to allow you to take 2 heroes in the first place, that's up to you though
Hey is there any chance if you can post the Manual in word im working on a Win 7 and it has Issues with Acrobat and i really want to use a different
hero selection system (im using the basic beacon one) to save space

Awesome library, it's been extremely helpful and saved me a ton of time with my map.
I have an issue, and its probably easy to fix but I just started working with the editor last week, so there is a lot I don't know.
When I use the Circle Hero Selection in my map, it works fine, you pick your hero and it spawns where I want it to. The problem I have is that I want to tie that hero into my movement triggers, which set up a WASD movement for each hero.
However, before I used this hero selection library I just made the trigger tie to the unit already on the field, but now that the player can pick a specific hero I don't know how to link that "Picked Hero" with my movement triggers.
