I recommend playing with other people. It's more fun that way anyways. Last I checked it was hovering around page 3, possibly page 4. You can always join the Malum Ruina channel and try to get a game going there.

Got into a multiplayer game.....I was 100% lost with no idea of what to do. I know you have the dialog help thing, but seriously add a tutorial video or text or something explaining all the different things you can do.
-Players are automatically opted out of being selected for alien if they have played fewer than 3 recorded full games (as of the update, all players start with 0 games)

Hey man just here to say a few things. 1) Still, an awesome game, this is actually some really good stuff. 2) im still running into the glitch were after being infested, my name is stiill visible in alien form ,just thought you should know, 3) also, I ran into a glitch after the update that set up the "you must have played this many games to opt in" thingie was on were it didnt count my games from before that. was that intinitional, or an actual glittch, cus it kinda annoyed me... but still, great work, apart from those 2 little thjings, great game. ps: were the hell is old smokey?!?!!??!!?

Because the opt-in gate requires the use of banks, there's really nothing I can do for people who have played before that update. There's no way for SC2 to know how many games you've played without there being a bank, and since banks didn't exist before that version... well, I think you get the picture. If there's enough demand I may reduce the gate to 2 or even 1 game, but so far 3 seems appropriate.
Oh, and the location of Ol' Smokey is a closely held sekrit. It's not too hard to find if you poke around though... Of course, its current location is likely to change in the next couple of versions.

Hey miles, awesome work so far, heres a few comments: One, i loved playing the psion in one of my random games, got to tier two, then killed the para twice and went into the shuttle, was really fun. Just wondering... how many tiers are there to the psion? and also, i was going virtuous, but i was planning on putting a few points into pragmatic, but it seemed that the virtuous blocked of that tree as well.. was that intended, or a glitch? also, is it possible for Psion to be alien, or to get spawned? cus I think that that would be a VERY interesting game, and allow a VERY good use of the malicious tree to just Devastate things. Cus otherwise, theres no real motivation to go malicious, cus then it just places you against everybody, including the alien. But yeah, im a big fan of this map, wish it was more Popular and filled up faster. I think the new Popularity System is GAY and is docking you a little. Ive played a few maps with you as DJFarmer, and would like to congratulate you on, and thank you for, this wonderfull map.
Currently the Psion has 3 tiers (including the starting tier.) You can only choose one ability per tier, so no matter which tree you pick from, all other trees on that tier will be blocked. For example, if you choose Push (pragmatic) at tier 1 you will not be able to choose Mind Sap (malicious) or Enervate (virtuous,) however once you reach the 2nd tier you will be able to choose Lightning (malicious,) Recall (pragmatic,) OR Valiant Strike (virtuous.) The only difference applies when you choose something from either the malicious or virtuous tree. If you do that, it closes all tiers from the opposing tree (like if you choose a virtuous ability, all malicious abilities will be blocked and visa versa.)
If the Psion chooses a lot of malicious abilities and his alignment drops below -50 (type in -alignment to see what your alignment is) he will share victory conditions with the alien. This means that if all humans die and only the alien and Psion remain, the game will end. So technically they wouldn't HAVE to ally at that point, but it would benefit them both if they did.
Hey man, Ive just noticed a few things. one, Ive run into an issue of a grenade NEVER hitting were i aimed it at , always rolling to far, or once even bouncing of of a person. and two, as Psion, once i Evolve Once, my name will permanently disappear. and three, Ive also run into a glitch were if you die while your on the maintainance screen, controlling the robot, you will be stuck on that screen, controlling that robot from beyond the grave. but, yeah, still a great game, and will be glad to see what you do with it in the future.
Mass Infection is basically, for a couple of minutes, all of the dead and infected humans rising to life all over the map (along with other infected creatures.)

While the Psion is a human, his abilities have the tendency to inspire fear and distrust rather than respect and awe. Most humans will likely consider the Psion to be a threat. And while the Psion's will can be corrupted to serve the alien, he is likewise an unknown threat to this malicious entity and may be hunted as a result. It is therefore in the Psion's best interest to remain anonymous for an extended period of time.
In terms of gameplay, this means avoiding the use of abilities and even abstaining from evolution until you are certain you will be strong enough to combat any threat or until you know you can secure allies.
2. Make strategic decisions
How the Psion shapes his abilities will ultimately determine where his loyalties will lie. As he becomes more proficient in the psionic arts, his human will begins to bend in either malicious, pragmatic, or virtuous directions. It is therefore advisable that the Psion remain prudent in how he chooses to train his abilities. Training abilities based on his ultimate goals is the best strategic plan a Psion can make.
3. Keep your friends close...
The Psion is a being with a few extraordinary gifts. KLSC Research has shown increased growth of psionic aptitude while the subject was being attended by many associates as opposed to only a few. It was therefore concluded that the Psion actually copies and amplifies the minute psionic energies of nearby humans. Stay near other humans, and you will evolve more quickly.
It was also discovered that, just before death, all sentient life forms emit a strong energy pulse that the Psion feeds upon, greatly influencing his rate of growth. Studies have shown that the nature of the dying being has to be the opposite of the Psion in order to ensure maximum growth. If both are alike in nature, the results are actually detrimental to the Psion's growth. It is therefore undesirable for a malicious Psion to kill another malicious being, and likewise for a virtuous Psion to kill a virtuous being.
In summary...
- Keep your identity secret until the need arises to reveal yourself
- Carefully choose which abilities you will learn since they determine who you will be allied with
- You gain evo more quickly when near other humans, or by killing humans or aliens depending on your alignment
