I just thought of an idea. Perhaps you could have some method to directly other attack other players, such as hiring mercenaries to cause crime nearby their business in order to take customers away from them. However, doing so could risk getting you in trouble with the police. In response, enemies could hire bouncers to guard their restaraunts.
That is already a planned feature. It's the next area I need to work on after restaurants, however its not as important so it's priority is pretty low. (note the 'mercs' tab in the menus) :D

....*sniffle* nobody wants a....a yummy zergling burger? Don't make me go out of business. >.< I need to keep sales up with your comments and feedback!
I would buy a zergling burger but im on a strict terren diet (being a zergling after all ^.^) How about a marine steak?
no one of the main reasons i looked at this map is cus it was titled ZERGLING burgers, i love those little guys ^.^
well the dairy queen was awesome and i liked how it ACTUALLY ATE the zergings (dont judge me) though I though the space the farms/cities took up alot of space... maybe you could scale the models down by 1/2 to get you LOADS of space on the map. The fame thing is alot better then thought was possible so KuDoS on that :)
And what about different types of Zerglings? (like the ones in the map ZILLION ZERGLINGS on SC2) maybe have some fast ones that breed rapidly but offer less meat and atk speed is WAY up.... or really thinly shelled ones they have less life and armor but wont Spazz out when population goes over. (well, i guess if it got REALLY over then they would) oh and what about Hatcherys/lairs/hives, do they do anything different?
oh and you STILL haven't said anything about the prottoss army of DOOM that ive mentioned a couple times or my baneling/lurker idea. im not impatient.. im just really excited, SO excited that i sit here all day waiting 0.o
And since you can BUY from the black market then shouldn't you be able to SELL..... just a thought...... albino Zerglings sound tastier then regular zerglings..... or Black ones.... maybe they taste chocolaty...... yummmmm..... chocolate.......
Oh and i was playing Coretex today and i made a zergling rider and i thought "Well what if you breed REALLY big ones then train your mercs to ride them for extra mobility and hp":)
Well you cant buy from the black market.... That was a feature I was considering. And although I got the fame system to work, I cant figure out how to use it >.< (Getting customers to actually compare restaurants using those fame values) lol. As for the protoss army of doom....I'll probably add that in as some sort of "ultimate" merc contract that costs so much money it will never get used :D. Except by me :D But that would require me to make the merc system first O.o so much work to be done, yet I'm soooo lazy :D Also I did consider making hatcheries/lairs/hives as a way to switch your breeding species. Or maybe lairs produce faster than hives. But I changed it a lot since then and now you can have multiple hatcheries for faster production. Hmmm Maybe if I can come up with a function for a lair or hive to fulfill I would add them.

That tech demo amazed me. Buying farms...marking restaurants, brilliant! Maybe, before you can build a restaurant you have to supply it with X amount of food?
Right now I start off all players with 1 farm and 1 small restaurant as well as a decent stock of meat, and cash (if I choose to add buns as an important resource you will start with them also). That way players won't instantly run out of stock. But since all restaurants draw supplies from a common storage this probably wouldnt work. When a zergling is killed you instantly get the meat added to your supply count. All restaurants draw from this same supply count until it is empty- players wont have to worry about choosing which meat goes to whatever restaurant.

<>Mini Overmind produce :: Ultralisk/OMEGALISK?/THE ALMIGHTY RUINLISK!!!
(if you've played Cortex on SC2 to make a RUINLISK you make a Ultralisk use @modelswap S @renameall Ruinlisk then OP it to get a ALMIGHTY RUINLISK!!!)
If your having INSANE problems w/ customers usin the fame system maybe you can try and give it to some of SC2mapster's Coding Gods to figure it out.... :D
Oh and do you need a Spawning Pool to make Zerglings? (Hydralisk den to make Hydralisks ect)
Maybe instead of going bankrupt a buissness could decide to merge w/ one other buisnness... Keeping own of their farms but teaming up w/ the other player... THEY however cannot do anything MAJOR w/out contacting there CEO.
(Ex Burgling King's Sales have gone down 29 points in the last quarter due to McZerglings Attacks on their restaurants/farms. Instead of losing Bugling King decides to decline McZergling's offer of merging and send a request to Roach in the Box to merge. Seeing the potential of merging they negotiate for awhile... after agreeing on a temporary merge for a period of 15 years, they start rapidly attacking McZerglings with Blackmail... Merc attacks.... And bribery to the police to Bring down sales. Roach in the Box being the only Tycoon in the game right now as Jimmy's and Swarm's Circle are fighting each other for the tycoon of Stupid's Ville... Mczergling's has no choice.. but to merge on a permanent base... or to be merged indefinitely to then lower class of fast food. 15 years has past and since Burgling King got 25%-50% of all his former restaurant's sales.. can start back up. And with a brilliant move makes himself the tycoon of Stupid's ville and 2nd best restaurant on Fat People City. Jimmy's and Swarm's Circle are now squabbling for minor towns/city blocks. Roach in the Box is now the highest producer in the nation. McZergling's however want their company back. They got a good deal of 75% of their restaurants in come and have stockpiled 4 million dollars. after multiple offers of cash Roach in the box to UN merge. they decide to go on the shady side of the law. using their vast supply of cash and old contacts start rapidly attacking key points in their fast food chain that only HE as a partner can now about. Sales are dropping rapidly and to avoid having to sell their major farms, they decide to take the former CEO's of McZergling's offer of 3 million dollars. McZerglings refuse since they have spent 3 million dollars on their attacks and now only have 1.5 million. they offer 1 million dollars, and they are forced to take it, McZerglings is now a independent restaurant again.)
Well right now its pretty simple. Hatcheries auto-spawn zerglings. And you can purchase a chemical to inject into a hatchery and it will make it start making hydras instead of zerglings. This is a 1-time buy and affects an entire farm. Its also irreversible (Although that can be changed). Also I did have a semi-breakthrough with the customer system today. Although its still not working like I want, it does pick restaurants and choose the BEST one. The issue is that its still really glitchy and also ALWAYS picks the best restaurant instead of mostly picking better restaurants.

yeah....well now as I look at it my breakthrough was still preety bad lol. It still doesnt work. :D But I've got another thread posted about it, and I can work on other parts of the map in the meantime. Say...mercs?

Tech Demo #2
When will Zergling Burgers be able to play and download?
I'm dying to play it!
Thanks for your hard efforts so far you have done great.
For those who don't know, me and a few other people were working on a map called "zergling burgers". Unfortunately the project was disbanded due to lack of interest. Anyway, I'm thinking about re-starting the project myself and possibly recruiting some fellow mapsters to help out. Anyway....before I get too far into the development process, I want to see if anybody thinks it would be any fun to play... So I'm going to explain a general outline of the map here, and hopefully you guys will let me know what you think! Here goes.... Overview
The game is sort of a fast food chain simulation. The goal will probably be to the 1st to become a millionaire (if you play multiplayer) or just not go bankrupt (single player). Players have 2 main things to manage: Their farms, and their restaurants . The farms will be the main part of the game. Basically theres a lot of empty farmland around the outside of the map and the city is in the middle. Each player starts with 1 farm and 1 restaurant. The farms each have a hatchery, psi disruptor, and butchery inside. The hatchery produces zerglings at a set rate. The psi disruptor keeps the zerglings under control, and the butchery periodically "calls" in some zerglings via psionic messages and kills them. Players can buy new farms, add stuff to existing ones (hatcheries for faster production, butcheries for faster slaughtering, and psi disruptors to increase the farms "population cap". The "pop cap" is essentially how many zerglings your psi disruptor can control before they break free of it's power and go crazy. The 'crazy' zerglings will act like normal zerglings- tearing apart the farm, buildings, fences, and guards. The police will come and clean up any farms that were overrun and rebuild it after a while. Players can manage the restaurants in the city by setting prices, choosing restaurant locations, advertising, etc... More about farms
There are a LOT of options with the farms. There are drugs you can put in the zergling food, all with different costs and side effects. For example, giving them a certain drug might make them bigger, giving more meat per zergling but also adding hitpoints and use more population- making them much more dangerous to your farm. Players can also breed Hydralisks- and everybody knows hydralisk meat is not only much better tasting, but theres more of it on each hydra. Hydralisk breeding is illegal, though, so doing it is risky. The Police will kill any on sight and fine you if you are discovered. Police + Illegal actions
Police can be friend or foe depending on your style of play. They patrol the map, looking for anything illegal. Any illegal actions result in a fine, which you can respond to in many ways. You can pay it, pay it and 'cover it up' (preventing the local media from discovering it, therefore protecting your company's fame but costing more $$), or refuse to pay the fine and become wanted. When you are wanted, police will ignore any illegal actions preformed against you by other players. To become un-wanted, you have to pay a much larger fine. Anything illegal you do, regardless of if you pay the fine, will increase your notoriety, meaning police will check on you more often. Players can bribe Police and media outlets to decrease notoriety. Players can also bribe the police to stay away from certain areas. This is good for a variety of reasons- players who want to attack an enemy farm won't want to get discovered can bribe police to stay away from their target area. Players who want to breed Hydralisks might bribe police to stay away from their own property- thus allowing other players to attack them with no penalty. The bribes are also time-based, meaning you need to pay the police daily to keep them away. Mercs
You can hire mercenaries to do your dirty work or to simply guard your farms and restaurants. You can not directly control them, they just guard key areas. Mercenaries can also be given contracts such as "infect player X's zerglings with a virus" or "destroy the psi disruptor on player X's farms to make the zerglings get out". Again, Police can see these contracts being carried out and will respond appropriately. (Guarding your own property is NOT illegal, only attacking other property or carrying out contracts).
Phew that was a lot. Hopefully somebody had time to read that entire thing. The full map concept document can be found here. PLEASE let me know what you think, and if this could even be fun to play. I appreciate ANY feedback. I want to do everything I can to avoid overly slow gameplay, and so I want to provide stuff to be doing constantly. Want to make sure the map is as awesome as possible?
Join the team and let your voice be heard! Just send me a PM letting me know you want me to add you to the team and I'll do it. I'm not expecting you to work on the project, so dont worry about commitment to something you aren't too sure about.. I just need feedback suggestions to make the map the best that it can be. Once I get to a playable version, the team can give feedback on what they think is good and bad.
As for when the map will be done.....Unfortunately I'm not sure if it ever will be...I Haven't been working on very much recently due to a roadblock with the restaurants. But I am getting some help on that. I'll probably reserve that for the end. Also, I can guarantee the map will never ever be up for download- people will just steal it. But if I finish it I'll get it onto battle net ASAP for people to play. (I'm on NA server so if your on NA too its your lucky day) As for when that will happen.....I really cant say. The features shown in the video demo are the only ones done so far...... To give you a better idea of progress, I'll copy the progress page from the team forums and put it here in a second.
Stuff that needs to be done:
Farming System [Mostly Done]
-Need to make it so destroyed farms are rebuilt, thats why farms arent 100% done yet.
Customer System [Just Started]
Restaurant Management [Just Started]
User Interface [Mostly Done]
-The UI is basically completed and functional. But new buttons are added every time a new feature is added so....Its not technically "complete".
Police + Bribes Actions [About half done]
Merc System [Not Started]
-I'll be working on Mercs next probably.
Business Management System [Just started]
Score Tracking via Banks [Not Started]
-Not even sure if this is even necessary....This feature will either be done post-release or never.
Release Date- Undetermined with no estimate whatsoever
edit- I am not currently working on this project. I may pick it up later.
Awesome! A good path to go with this would be the "burger tycoon style" But what you got is good!
You called advertisements Adds rather then Ads cause they ADD to your score, right?
