I'm really interested in this project from a player stand point... I want more maps like this rather than TUGS etc... so keep it up for sure! The following is me being critical but keep in mind I'm really impressed and want the best:
I found the video so fast I had no idea what was going on (on first viewing). I'd slow it down and highlight each part. It was difficult to understand what goes on with annotations going on top of the game and it moving so fast. I would say start the video with a brief showing of how a game begins and work your way through it. E.g. text on black screen "Players build farms for income" then show a clip of it, then black screen with text for the next step of gameplay etc... having not read your summary, I wasn't able to fully understand the mechanics from the video because the text was on screen at the same time as the gameplay, AND it went by a bit fast for me.

As well, later on in development I'd be completely willing to make a trailer for it if you'd like. Just contact me whenever you want it.

Right now, the only thing I might save between games is your total victories earned, like in debates. The game is also intended for mutliplayer, and single player will be available but its going to be more of a tutorial than a game if your playing by yourself. Like if you are a noob at the game, you play single player and it walks you through the game. Maybe I should force players to do the single player game before multiplayer ! MWAHAHAHA (yeah right I won't do that lol)

Yeah, I am trying to make this as noob-friendly as possible. Like I said above, single player will automatically train players in a comprehensive tutorial without the threat of loosing. In multiplayer, a helpful tip is randomly chosen and then shown every 60 seconds. :D
Yeah, I know I did a less than amazing job with the video. It was sorta because I have the free version of fraps and can only record in little bursts for 30 seconds- which is fine for cinematic but not for this. I've got another screen capture thing that I can record with for as long as I want but the quality is a bit lower. (I use it to record my tutorials). And yeah, I have a dislike toward almost all DOTA/Tug/Nexus wars/ tower defense maps. They're all the same AGGHHH!!! As for a trailer....I was going to make it myself later but I was like....What would I even put in a trailer for this..lol...
If anybody wants to join the team let me know. For the team setup, I'll be programming the map myself and the team forums will be more for game play discussion or how to make the map most fun....stuff like that. I don't really need anybody to help me with the technical side, I'm pretty good with the editor.
Update!
To avoid any issues with blizzard, I've decided to rename the police to "dominion security", and change bribing the police to "placing a jamming beacon" (or something..not sure on name yet). Somebody pointed out that blizzard is banning left and right and I want my map to be safe. Better to rename these when its just getting started than have to do it at the end.

You should put 2 options at game start which would be based on voting.
1. On you saved previous wolrds
2. On a new game. The new game doesnt save, which means if you choose this dont get too many hopes with building.
The problem with saving is that not only is it incredibly hard to save all that data with banks, its also unfair to other players. Or were you saying just in single player?

Looks very nice, was waiting for a game like this. Not many maps of this genre have been released (that i know of). Are you going to add more stuff, or is this it? It could get very monotone just waiting for a million, not being able to expand or buy more stuff. Looks neat either way!
I am planning on expanding this a lot (again, IF I decide to stick with this project all the way through... I think I will). If you read the document on the first page you will see many of the planned features.

Speaking from my own experience with Prisoner Rebellion, I had it blatantly on the loading screen: "Kill the cops" and the map was on page 1 for a while and Blizz had no issues...
Also, I had a very basic bank in prisoner rebellion that would just save wins/losses and give you a custom leaderboard icon based on your wins. However, the save data got cheated a lot so all I did was make a really complex looking trigger that would convert numbers like 25 to be *JS or some weird letter combo... and I'd save out a bunch of other check-crap like random numbers. This instantly curbed all cheating...
Though, even with those steps ^ I still made my bank not affect anything ingame just because we can't truly depend on local banks to be secure... so no matter how you hack the bank it wouldn't affect ingame gameplay.

Yeah, I agree banks are insecure. But the wins counter (like you said) won't affect anything other than possibly a icon or something.
I added a feature to buy new farms now. :D And I also added the ability to create new psi disruptor to increase your population cap in each farm.
Should I add a way for players to somehow forcibly buy a farm from somebody else? Attacking it with mercs will destroy it but then anybody can buy it and it takes a while to get rebuilt.

Possible a "seize farm mission?" for mercs? Would require you to purchase enough mercs to overpower all the defenses, and replace them afterward.
Make them have to fight to get to a control center to capture it, making all defenses (not mercs) and ownership pass to the player.
Would the player have shared control with police/mercs? it looks like it in the video, but that is just a display of concept. I think they shouldnt have shared vision, and that a possible mission for mercs would be scouting, which would consist of the mercs getting close to a target farm and either giving vision for a duration, or planting a spy camera(cloaked) or something that would give vision until found and destroyed.

The game looks amazing, I registered the Forum just so I could vote and reply on this. I'd love to play it. It reminds me of another fastfood game..
A suggestion, maybe another type of unit that has both good and bad effects? e.g. Roach, but it eats other Zerglings/Hydras over time?
Or if it gets the game too complicated that's fine :P

I actually considered making the roach another unit that would be legal but have some big disadvantage that made hydras better (except that hydras are illegal) but for now I decided against it. Maybe I will add them at a later date though. :D

The concept is nice, but I still suggest doing some serious brainstorming before working with it fullscale.
you should try to keep the game quite simple, so people will know how to play it
what is there to do? only breeding zerglings and hydras doesnt seem too much fun. I wish there were lots of different stuff you could do

Heck yea I'd join the team for sure haha. Ideas and stuff like that (concepts. balancing ideas, ideas to make the game funner, more user friendly, etc.) is what I'm all about, I play a LOT of different maps. More often then not I'll find myself checking out maps way way down in the popularity list just to check out the concepts and see what makes a good game both popular and fun. So if you want help with gameplay feedback and ideas, heck, I'm your guy.
Currently I think this map has quite a bit of potential and with the right use of creativity and innovation I honestly believe it could be someday considered a "classic" sc2 map for sure. I would love to see this concept flourish and give you whatever feedback you need to do it haha, it sounds like a great map.

This map seems okay, but it's kind of on the technical side rather than being user friendly.
I actually hoped that someone will make a Rune Factory type map, with farming and combat combined.
