What you would be doing at all times is a big concern for me. I want to keep players doing something CONSTANTLY. Obviously there is more that will be added on to whats in the video. Specificly the entire restaurant and company management system. But yeah, thats part of what the team is for- to let me know everything I can possibly do to keep the APM up and the idle moments down.
I sent you a team invite. Right now your'e the only guy who actively is on the team. The other members are from before we killed the project and dont use the team forum anymore.
And honestly is the map ends up not being too popular, the only thing we loose is the time spent making it. And since making maps is fun, its no big deal. :D But I'm gunna try my best to keep this project going and end up fun.

lol at all the polls you ever make. You always have funny negative choices on polls. :) On another note, this is the 3rd time I've heard about zergling burgers since you said you were starting it back up, so I give up hiding.
Things that look good and should not change...
These are my opinions based upon the current game. I like the idea of zergling burgers first off. I also like the hatchery and the farms. I like the police. I like the competition between players. Finally, I like the illegal units idea as well.
Things I don't like or need improvement...
I like pretty much everything. I don't see any bad ideas. I may find something later though when the game is more fully developed.
Things I think should be added...
This section will be loaded with junk that has potential and is just garbage. I'm creative and I like coming up with ideas. 1 idea I had was about illegal and legal meat types. I was thinking that there could be 2 stores and a zoo for new burger types and a zoo. The "Store" has 2 new burgers that require a lot of money, but are legal. The units could be mutalisks and roaches. The mutalisks are more chewy and are a little more expensive, but they harvest for a lot more meat. Idk how the chewy changes anything, but it may be worth looking into. The other could be the roach which provides "roach steaks". Roaches are expensive and require that you have a beast master in order to tame them. (A merc hero) However, they provide more meat and attract more customers. Roach steak don't usually go bad either. The black market provides the more darker and illegal burger types for slightly cheaper than the store. You can buy hydralisks, banelings, and infestors. Hydralisks have no disadvatnages except for being illegal and provide a lot more tasty meat. Banelings have little meat, are illegal, and must be tamed. However, banelings also give you "spices" which make your burgars attract double the normal customers. Finally, the infestor. The infestor is illegal, expensive, only makes 1 infestor per buy, but has an extremely large amount of meat and attracts a lot more customers. The Zoo is slightly different. You can go to the Zoo and adopt 1 egg for a very expensive price. This is known as "Raising an Ultralisk" It's very expensive and should be done much later in the game. You buy the egg and you buy "Ultra Feed" from the regular store. The feed is cheap, but you need a lot of it. Aftera time, the egg hatches and you have a pygalisk. It has -1 life regen so you have to use "Ultra Feed" to heal it. It gains full life for a time, but you need to feed it later. If you attempt to have another ultra egg, it will eat that too, so don't do that. It will eventually grow into a mighty ultralisk, and even later into an omegalisk. If you kill it as a pygalisk, you get little meat, if you kill it as an ultralisk you get a lot of meat, and if you kill it as an omegalisk, you get about 50 times the amount of a zergling. That's a lot of meat. However, the sooner you kill it, the more sweet it will taste which attracts more customers. That's about it for now. :)
Nope. :D Although I am working on it daily, theres a lot to add still. I'll release a second video demo once I get more features in to let everybody see whats been going on.
Thanks for the feedback. The whole idea with different meat types is tricky if its going to affect customers....However I do like the idea of having an ultralisk..But I'm not sure how I'd work it in the game. Right now Hydralisks just give 5 times the meat of zerglings and are therefore more cost effective. The custom popularity system is what I am getting started on right now....And its really really tricky. We had it planned out b4 the project disbanded....It should take distance, fame, other restaurants in the area, quality of the restaurants (maybe, not sure how to let players control this), and price into account and determine the number of customers that go the restaurant. Ugghh thats gunna be a nightmare to program lol.
Lol I kinda just thought of this one...What if you could secretly tell your mercs to plant a ultralisk egg inside an enemy farm. And then it hatches and is all like "RAWRRRR!! NOMNONNOMNOM I'M EATING ALL UR ZERGLINGS ROOAAR!!".
1 great new amazing idea I had was greenhouses. Greenhouses have upgrades like ketchup, tomatoes, lettuce, and other foods from plants. These upgrades are expensive, but they increase the profit you get per burger. Very good thing to have when you get enough money.
My 2nd new idea was queen milk and cheese. You can milk "Dairy" queens and get cheese which also increases profit per burger, but queens cost pop too.
Greenhouses. I didnt put them in my posts here, but we already planned those in the team forums. Bio domes would be purchased and just provide buns, lettuce, etc... for burgers...But I like the idea of adding more to the available toppings with them.... I will try to factor that into the customer system once I build that.
Dairy Queens....That would actually be cool. They wouldnt get butchered like zerglings but just provide a periodic amount of cheese. Maybe they're also illegal? They should have some sort of disadvantage. Maybe they use a LOT of population or eat zerglings. Or maybe they get along well with hydras but not zerglings, or the other way around...

Haven't officially announced this yet, but I'd like to get some feedback and suggestions so I'm opening up the team to anybody who wants to join.
Want to make sure the map is as awesome as possible?
Join the team and let your voice be heard! Just send me a PM letting me know you want me to add you to the team and I'll do it. I'm not expecting you to work on the project, so dont worry about commitment to something you aren't too sure about.. I just need feedback & suggestions to make the map the best that it can be. Once I get to a playable version, the team can give feedback on what they think is good and bad.
I'd like to be the first to "sign up". I'm more of the "Game designer" who makes up the ideas and forms them into something in the game. My brain has always been creative, so I will be a good addition. :)
Actually your not the first.. Your the 7th. :D lol...
Like I said, All I want is ideas, feedback, and advice. I'll handle the technical side of things to the best I can and post on the 'real' forums when I need help with that kind of stuff.

Okay, got the team forums going a little bit. Anybody is still welcome to join, just send a PM...Anyway I wanted some feedback for the customer system I'm working on (harder than I thought it would be). My current plan(copied out of the team forum):
Explanation of Variables
All these variables will end up as a real value between 0 and 100 with higher numbers being better. They are added together to form an overall 'score' for the restaurant which is then saved as a custom value into the restaurant unit itself.
price = 100 - ( (current price / max price) * 100 ) Players can set prices from free to 25 bucks per meal. So say the player set the price to $12.50. The variable would come out as 50. The reason I use 100 - the variable is because that way higher numbers are better and lower prices.
quality Quality will be set to 50 (out of 100) at the opening of each restaurant. It it is changed in real time as things affect it.
fame Fame is how well known your entire restaurant chain is. Unlike quality, it starts at 0 when the game starts. So therefore each restaurant for any given player will have the same fame value.
cutoff distance = 35 (for now)...This is how far customers are willing to walk. I think I'll have each customer choose the 4 closest restaurants and compare them before deciding. Like I said, if 4 restaurants closer than this distance are not available, they are ignored.
So I'll add price, quality, and fame for each restaurant to get a value out of 300. Say a restaurant just opened and had a price of 5 bucks, an average quality of 50, and no fame. Its overall score would be 130 out of 300, which would be converted into 43% restaurant awesomeness. The same restaurant with 50 fame would get a score of 60%. The same restaurant with 50 fame AND a perfect quality score of 100 will get a final score of 77%. Players just starting out will have to lower prices to compensate for fame- players with a lot of fame can raise prices and still have a decent 'score' for the restaurant.
What do you think? Once the customer system is working I think I'll be ready for a new video update.
I would join the team, BUT I SUCK!!!
No in all seriousness, i would probably drag you down, with my crappy Cpu and my limited knowledge of all things starcraft and my school and crap. *sigh* life's no fun....
(i do however like the idea of planting a Ultralisk in another players farmMaybe you could grow a "domesticated" Version of them (the obvious side effect being they eat everything in sight (and must keep eating Zerglings & Hydralisks to survive) and there so illegal that it's death/prison for getting caught, the plus being the LOADS of Hydralisk quality meat )
I think fame should be out of more then 100 (like 200) compare Mcdonalds to burger king, they could both presumably be said to have 100 fame, there both well known, yet Mecdonalds has more Customers(One restaurant should have "super Fame" (or something) that lets you have 150 fame. The player whose Advertising+Quality is the best would have it. so that if you quality was perfect; Price was low, you could have 115%.) OR ( The Max of 200 would allow for a harder Max, maybe almost impossible ) OR (You can combine them) OR (you can keep your way)
(Oh, and don't Prottoss hate the Zerg?!?!( hmmm, let's see, Mc-Zerglings sales are up 2 points from last Quarter, now if we use this incredibly sensitve and highly overpriced communication device to alert the Prottoss of a high concentration of Zerg, not only will there farm be destroyed for all eternity, but no-one will get MAD AT ME! ( *1 hour later* ) hmmmm, maybe telling them to bring the Purifier and an Army was a bad idea.... Should have gone with only 2 Motherships..... ) oh and if a Zergling get's sick, does it become a Baneling? (it kinda makes sense ))
I think Banelings should be BAD things since Zerglings/Hydralisks both Morph into something (Banelings/Lurkers) why cant they cause problems?!?! (Zergling A has been here 5 secs longer then Zergling B, Zergling B is taken Into The slaughter house, this happens several times until (OHNOES) Zergling A's expiration Date has expired! Zergling A transforms into a Baneling! Baneling A's Presence at this farm has now riled up the Zerglings, there happiness is down ( =( OHNOES =( ) Baneling A then forcibly Smashes himself into a/the Psi Disrupter! To fix it, the owner of Zergling King must shut down this farm and call a repairman.) Lurkers would presumably have the same effect (except they wouldn't explode so they would A keep attacking and B make it's fellow Zergians more unhappy)
.... hmmm, now that i think about it, Roachs look alot like Ultalisks.... so maybe to get a Omegalisk(/Ultralisk (you chose )
(You have to presumably use the process above) or
( Roach -> Ultralisk -> Omegalisk )
Oh... And what happens if you are Wanted? does your CEO appear and you have to keep him from being spotted by the police or something?
Which raises another Q, do the Zerglings and Hydarlisks need food? (meat?) because presumably Zerglings/Hydralisks( Roachs/Infestors/Ultralisks?) would be much happier on a nice big and juicy Fat man then a dead goat......
(but isn't murder illegal?!?)
Well as of now, none of the zerg require food. I currently have support for zerglings, Hydralisks, and dairy queens. Note that there is NO quality difference between different zerg varieties- hydralisks just give substantially more meat with no extra cost other than a small 1 time fee to start breeding them. Queens can be purchased and called down via drop pod into any farm you want. They are fairly expensive and are never killed by the butcerhy- instead they produce milk/cheese over time. I'm planning on making them eat any zerglings they see. However they won't eat hydralisks, so they will be safe to have together with them. This would create an interesting mechanic- since you only can have 1 (or maybe 2) queens per farm, your would essentially 'waste' the farm if you only had a queen in it. But since zerglings don't mix well with queens, that makes your only options to either 'waste' the farm or breed illegal hydras.
Also the team is not about programming the map or anything like that. Its 100% about feedback, suggestions, brainstorming, ideas, etc....You could have never touched the galaxy editor or even own sc2 and you would still be fine for the team. :D
