While there weren't many submissions, there were some major breakthroughs in the development of AI through GalaxyEdit and i'm really impressed. Hopefully this submission will help with the future of AI creation and open up more possibilities for whatever kind of map you're creating. I'd like to thank those of you who spent the time for this contest, it was well worth it.
I'd also like to give a big shout out to Th3LaughingMan, who created an entire framework to base an AI off of.
this vote was hard to pick, the other three works are surely original and interesting, but the one who impressed me most is rrowland's behemoth, very challenging. I think that once it will be improved, it should be able to beat even koreans :P
I finally beat Behemoth (by sending my overlords and one drone to the top island after base was destroyed). I thought it would send the void rays to get me but I guess it had too many land units. So i built back up from nothing and managed to sneak over to the other island with another drone till i had a fully upgraded army with the maximum number of units. Hopefully someday i can beat it without doing that. Even the Warcraft III ai can be beat easily by building on islands. Even though its not meant for Terran i bet it would still beat me if i played as Terran, my favorite race.
Is there a way to do the tournament mode as a spectator now that we can't go into game lobbies? (I asked this as a comment on his page, but I figured someone here might know as well)
I do not know how to make yourself a spectator via the editor.
Thanks for any help :)

You can just add yourself as player 3 or something and don't give yourself any units, but give map revealers.
If I do that though, it results in defeat for me because of the victory conditions which I can't seem to find. They are not where I am used to in the triggers. So after the AI loads is says local player is defeated and kicks me out.
Also I just wanted to add... I could just be doing it wrong, but the mimic AI seems very incomplete when I play it.
I did both a Zerg and Protoss profile and played them. They very loosely followed the build orders I had done, but did not expand when they should have. They also do not seem to micro at all. Also the Zerg one bunches all of the units up around the hatchery/lair. It just leaves them there until its attacking/scouting and even then it doesn't send all of them out. It also put maybe 5 drones on one of the extractors.
I think the concept is neat, but it really seems like it needs more work.
Also is there something wrong with the voting? Seems odd that the exact same number of Authors and users voted equally on both... 11 authors and 21 users for each right now.. (And it was matching numbers when I voted previously as well.)
Tournament mode only works when all four of the top slots are occupied by either a 'computer' or a 'neutral'; with the rest of the slots set to none. Thus, the 5th player automatically becomes a spectator. I implemented this after talks with vjeux for an AI tournament of sorts, but due to a bug with replays and banks, it never came about.
The tight competition deadline was a hinderance here. I had to cut corners in the end by making the default AI take over in parts; things like the economy and attack waves are examples of this. I'm just making excuses though: I wasted far too much time on systems I had to scrap in the end because I couldn't debug them fast enough.
And yea, the poll is incredibly close. I'm honored that people find my AI on par with rrowlands! Were I allowed to vote, it would actually go to behemoth. (Or maybe WOPR, I actually laughed out loud when those workers arrived! )
But yea, Mimic is an ongoing project. I want to get something with far more precise build/attack orders. But meh we'll see how that one goes...
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. I think it has outstanding potential though. That makes sense with using some of the default AI.
Are you saying the Tournament mode doesn't work currently? I got it to work by making myself player 5, but set it to user and just gave myself a random building out of the way, along with vision. So I don't need to make player 5 a user in that case?
Good work overall with it though. I am excited to see what else you can do with it :) Keep up the good work everyone
If you have no 'user' slots, then you'll be placed as a spectator automatically, but you'll still be able to pick profiles etc. The tournament mode works fine, but the replay issue is at Blizzard's end: Replays just don't work properly with any maps that involve banks. I'm sure they'll fix it though!
So the AI basically follows your build order but not to the letter. Does it try to attack at generally the same time? Or does it attack when it has the same unit count the user did or something?
Thanks for clearing that up :)
EDIT: That fixed the problem thanks. I didn't know it defaulted to spectator if there was no user.
And for rrowlands, I just wanted to say the phoenix's were probably the biggest flaw like someone said in the submission thread. Instead of defending the base from the mutas they pretty much just ran away and idled. Other than that the ai is great. Also it doesn't seem to attack the islands.

Nice, fewer but way better quality submissions unlike during cutscene contest.
Make some youtube movies with these AI:s fighting :D

Why is Assault of Zuc'chukah Mtn in here? Mimic is interesting but...meh. It's some bullshit if Behemoth doesn't win.
Even I didn't vote for myself. Sad.
"Behemoth AI [Fledgeling]" felt the truest to the contest. Totally blew me away, very impressive AI. - It has my vote.
Behemoth AI - Still not finished from the looks but understandable! Best AI out of the bunch.
I just tossed that in there. It's an AI scripted Map, he submitted it, I didn't see why not, :P.
I'll have to play around with these. It sounds like Behemoth is the most promising though.
Behemoth is good and all but i hate the fact that i can only be zerg
Yeah as an aspiring Zergling, Behemoth gave me much enjoyment. Grats to all the entries.
