Thing is. You can have a big playerbase but that does not mean that even one percent of those players is going to even help by past playing the map when it comes to money at least.
That is when bank file even manages to load right. I have even tried solution to put bank files to same trigger as where they are loaded but they still fail at times to load everything at least before HotS.
Hmm. Using bank files to reduce lag is something useful if it actually works reliably.
I pretty much decided not to update my existing published map to have HotS as a requirement. Every person who I talked and likes to play my map a lot, has no interest to buy HotS yet expect that one guy, who already purchased it but didn't bother to activate the expansion at the time.
Unless you want to do a melee map. You should only pick the Campaign dependencies most of the time. Otherwise expect blizzard to break your map and more.
In Ultralisk related evolution mission. There is a car which you can blow up. It causes Terran Marine to flip out mentioning how he had just paid that car and tries to face Ultralisks alone.
I finished the entire HotS campaign on a Hard difficulty and I didn't get that "Zerg is an endless swarm" feeling as I struggled to replace my troops etc.
Final mission is supposed to be something special but very few companies actually makes it so. Blizzard made it just to take an over hour but it lacked that something special to set it apart from the rest. Talk about a perfect moment it would have had to reveal Mengsk's actual plan to deal with the Zerg and flood the screen with some super units.
I wonder how it affects to map's popularity if map gets updated the same day the expansion is going to be released and there is many people hesitant to get HotS for some strange reasons.
As far I'm aware, those who try to play map which uses HotS's Dependency File gets blocked from playing the map if they have not bought the expansion.
Today I came to the conclusion that since I've installed windows 8 I have not had any tooltips show up for anything inside the editor. I'm not sure if this is due to Windows 8 or if it was like this before hand. Anyone got any ideas?
Edit: Should probably be moved to the bugs section.
Your computer has been infested. This new clever infestation spreads in form of Windows 8 and causes more headaches than it's leading competitor by the SAME COMPANY called Windows 7 (which is best Microsoft's Windows out there.)
I pre-ordered HotS for the beta access. Talk about a brand loyalty. Other reason was to fix a few bugs related to one of my maps which aroused due the changes made by Blizzard.
Those features just in the end are hindering players who don't bother to check out the options menu. It is like something what was bought over from Diablo III's design. Of course those same players would blame that map is broken due of that too.

I assumed it was intended that way.

I thought there was a Enterprise on a holographic display when I played the first mission. I must have been really tired.

Too bad it does not really help once I decide to update my map with a new stuff. I'm already looking forward to add Tempest and more to my map. :)

I don't like the idea of having two entries of my map in a public. It causes my map to compete against itself.

Just use this. :)

I noticed I still needed that file even after they officially started to support global play to make it more hassle free on the editor side.
