I am currently planning to remake this BroodWar map. If you played funmaps on the USEast Battle.net like 2 years ago you should know this map since it was quite popular back then, because it was somewhat competitive.
If you dont know this in particular ill describe the Naruto maps in BW for you in short.
It was an Arena game where every Player picked a Shinobi with unique abilitys, however only one Shinobi per team was allowed to be in the arena.
When out of chakra(energy) or low on health you could tag out and your teammates spawned in the arena, while you got some regeneration.
Simple but very tricky in high level play.
So i remembered how much fun it was back then, i started to redo this map, but i am very short of time and if someone is dedicated enough to help me it would be great !
So if you are a great mapper and haveing great knowledge about the data and trigger editor why not join me ? :P
Things that would be additionaly great are:
- Knowledge about the Naruto manga
- Knowledge about the Naruto Style of Maps in Broodwar
- Native english speaker ( since i am not im from germany D;)

OMG this is an awsome idea ive been trying to get someone to recreate this forever. i would be good with testing not so much of the technecal stuff but i know how lots of stuff works also i might be able to get a few of my brood war friends who made the maps like this to help :D

This is an interesting concept, but never played the original maps. SC2 is a great platform for making arena combat maps, but you're gonna have to learn how to make most of this map on your own. Just to get the project off the ground. And breed faith in people that can potentially help you.

i asked around and my freind is messing around with the edditor.. he knows alot of the triggers only problem is he is probebly going to make it the same way the old broodwar maps were Ex: make a marine it spawns ghosts (shurrikans) but he might take to his advantige of the new map edditor and what you can do with it Who knows
yeah there is one problem: the old mechanics were the key to make this game competitive.
i wont use the old mechanics because sc2 editor gives you the ability to create your own abilitys like you wish. the difficult is to create abilitys which requieres same skill than in the broodwar maps where you had to run close to the enemy -> switch to your stargate -> build a unit -> switch to your hero to be close enough so the spawned unit can hit.

if your friend is willing to join me that would be great. the best way to actually spilt the work is that people working on different heros, since they are the major work. the only char who is almost ready so far is rock lee. when i have like 7 or 8 heros i will add the tag triggers so i can run a first online test.
lol cool but uhh only problem i see is that now its going to be too easy to hit the oponit with the attack thats what made the old game so interesting so maby make it so its a mini menu for your charecter that u use like z to open and then ure attacks cost different energy or else it will be wayyy to easy
Hey it seems you guys are unsure how to keep the difficulty of the brood war map while keeping it intuitive in terms of starcraft 2, I would like to suggest creating some kind of chakra symbol system similar to the naruto world where you have to make certain chakra seals before performing a move. Perhaps something like this will keep the game a little more advanced then just a hero arena while being fun.
Ohh yeah i didnt think about that well lets just see how it is normal Also after your done Oyo send me rock lee so i can see how u want the hero to be and then ill show it to my freind and he can get started on some others
i think i will solve the difficult issue with a skillshot system where you have to aim on a specific location which will need you to suggest where your opponent is going next and give him a split second of time to dodge. just watch Itachis Great Fireball jutsu(first one) in my map i will upload here.
Note that the Primary Lotus triggers arent mine i copied them somewhere and only did few edits ! the rest are my triggers. Rock Lees second spell (Gates) doesnt work yet.
let me recommend using command card levels along with corresponding shortcut keys to create some sort of "forming of seals" through key presses.
For Sasuke, something like when you have enough chakra you press
A -> S -> D and click to use Fire Blast
or
A -> S -> C and click to use Giant Fireball
3 - 4 initial seals on the top level should do it, and then each level would have another seal. Categorize elements according to the initial seals, and then branch to sub-categories with the next command card level. If you don't plan to have too many different skills, then 2 layers of command cards should suffice. Be able to do key combos fast and accurately when you want to use a particular jutsu would be a skill that improves as you practice with your character.
When you have a bunch of cooldowns and several abilities at your disposal, it'll definitely pose as a challenge to use whatever skill you want at anytime you want. Especially when they aren't all laid out in front of you.
Blood-line limits would be achievable on the top layer command card, because they are an inherent ability that shouldn't take too much effort to utilize but costs large amounts of chakra, stamina, or both.
thats kinda like this is anime from sc1 where u used a marine to do your 1st attack a ghost to use your seccond and iff u made a marine and ghost it would do a special sort of thing so yeah thats a good idea u could make the triggers so that insteaad of having all the attacks layed out already u use different signs that make like ok so like first sighn for naruto would make a clone and then if u used the first and last sign it would do a rasangan thing
hi im back at this now and i kinda like the concept onisagi mentionet here but that looks kind off complicated to realize since im far away from being a pro with the editor however ill try something now and and post results later in the future.

my friend tryed out the new map editor but he made the map the same way the old one was and has a hard time with it so lol i think hes out now...... he went back to sc1.... and im no expert mapper all im good at is testing and finding bugs

R W W -> Summon: Gamabunta
next step would be to develop a shitload of jutsus since the basics are done. Just watch Gamabunta trigger he is easy to understand. If you guys wanna join in just take a Charakter from Naruto: Shippuuden and make jutsus for him. Post your plans here then.

i know i know =) im on it started to implement this new handseal system but i really could need some help from an expert mapper ;S
