Hey it seems you guys are unsure how to keep the difficulty of the brood war map while keeping it intuitive in terms of starcraft 2, I would like to suggest creating some kind of chakra symbol system similar to the naruto world where you have to make certain chakra seals before performing a move. Perhaps something like this will keep the game a little more advanced then just a hero arena while being fun.
Nice, are you going to go with a system with multiple win conditions? Ie. you can win through getting the most tech, or though force (destroying enemy farms? if thats possible) etc.
Hey guys I am an avid lurker on the forums I just logged in to tell you guys about an event being run by the Children's Miracle Network that challenges gamers to play for 24 hours straight and collect donations to support children's hospitals etc.
Anyhow you can donate online at my link here, any amount would be greatly appreciated and if you don't donate then consider creating your own page and collecting your own donations.
Anyone think this is realistically possible? I'm not a map maker, just throwing ideas around. Something where there is one commander in classing top-down RTS view that builds structures, tech etc. for players on his team who are in first person view, and he is able to issue commands that direct them where to go. (Ie. Natural Selection, HL1 mod if you've ever played it)

Perhaps experiment with things such as line of sight blockers to make the gameplay more interesting?

Great idea it reminds me of the good ol flash game Lemonade stand, except multiplayer and competitive (meaning awesome)

A map would have to be an entirely unique experience for it to warrant a price, otherwise people would just flock to the most identical version

A Roller Coaster Tycoon map sounds like an epic idea.
