I tried making an ability that shoots hellion flame thrower at a point. But it doesn't seem to work. It will only shoot when there are units around the targeted point. Anyone know what i need to edit to make it shoot and display the flame without units nearby? If there is a demo map out there please link it to me, i might have miss out. Thanks in advance!
u wana make rocke/bullet look like a flame/fireball
when u shot it it would seek the evil player
if any unit get near the flame it would damage them
... right ?
well i in Sc2 fire rate is super fast for each bullet hit and burn im not sure if it a good thing
in the other hand if u have the weapon shot out flame and burn like the Hellion then it would be alot better
anyway it late i look it up later and see what i can do about the projectile look like flame lol

Current problems:

That's because the flame thrower is a beam is created in the direction where "damage" occurs. No damage, no beam simple as that.
Have a look at actors and look up hellion. However, I do have to warn you... Hellion actor is the most complicated actor out of all the actors in galaxy editor. Recreating beam that shoots at a target location would takes less time to make.
i was playing around to see if i can get it to work but no luck
here are sum of the thing 1 did
im going to name effect 1 as flameball and effect as flame
make a new Effect
link the effect 1 with the effect 2
make a new actors
in Actors under Events - Terms
link this to ....effect 1 or 2 im not sure
right click then add even
(Effect.Flame.Stop At Target)
from here on im not sure how to make the effect 2 to work but the effect should be the 1 that shot out flame at the target point
but this editor is so powerful u can do almost anything ...the only question is HOW

Yah, the data editor really can do anything. But the chain of data together makes me dizzy. That chain lightning is interesting! For now i got what i need through triggers, but i will keep trying with the data editor and see what i can get. I will post it here if i manage to solve it [: If anyone manage to solve it earlier than me feel free to post it here, all credits to you [:

If u wish it to damage player who walk in it then it a diff story
How about making a projectile unit to be the flame, then add a behavior that searches and damages any units near it?
