Civilization : Zero State is based mostly on recapturing the "look and feel" of Civilization World 7.#.# from Starcraft1, at the same time I also hoped to mix in a lot of my favorite functionality from other similar maps on both sc1 and sc2.
So far, the feel of the map already has the more open and highly flexible/customizable feeling that I remembered from Civ World, though unfortunately lacks A LOT of polish and balance testing, functionality is still being added everyday as well, along with more bugs and issues to fix every update.
If you want to try a flexible diplomacy style map (which even has an AI mode (crappy AI mode for now)) then please do give this map a try, all the more testing and suggestions I get the better towards the end result.
Since I am updating it a lot as I do balance testing the best version to play is the one publicly found by searching arcade games for "civilization" and looking for zero state. Keep an eye on the patch notes.
Current List:
5 Natives Difficulties (Inlcuding No Natives, + AI Mode (Adds AI Bases to Nations with no players)
10 Nations (2 Unique Units each)
7 Ages which can be upgraded to freely
5 Wonders (Soon to be 6)
5 Governments (Soon to be 6)
Flexible Civil Disorder/Population/Government/Monument/Disaster system tied in to each other
I'm not really sure where I would post this question, so doing it here, I've had an issue with these odd mini-map icons and I have absolutely no idea what they are...
I think they first appeared when I was either messing with the terrain lighting or doodads at random, the problem is they show up in-game in greymask explored areas, but the icons disappear when a unit gets within sight range of them, they appear to be small lightning bolts on circles (power icon?)?
I'm clueless as to what they are or how to remove them, another possibility I considered was broken terrain or cliff levels was causing them or something, but if anyone has any clue please let me know!
Also, I've tried just about everything I could think of checking at the locations where they are, there's no associated points, no regions, I've tried changing terrain textures, cliff levels, smoothing terrain, removing all units/doodads around there, changing pathing, and messing with the lighting which I still don't really understand how it works very well, but nothing has removed them, I have a feeling it's a really simple issue too, what am I missing?
That icon usually goes with things like rocks. Check that area where you see those icons and see if there is a unit there. The check that unit's actor and there should be a minimap icon somewhere.
Thanks, rock doodads were one thing I noticed in the area, but I had already removed them as well, I wonder if they have some sort of leftover doodad state or something... though at least now that I know that is what it is I can figure it out.
