Just wanted to make a brief statement of thanks to everyone here. I skipped WC3 because the hero system was a real turnoff, so I haven't opened a map editor since the original SC. That said, the enthusiasm of this community is amazing, in less than a week I feel comfortable working with the Galaxy editor, thanks to the tutorial forum. I registered to thank everyone for that, even if I never release my own work. Looking forward to seeing what this site turns out, and hopefully I can contribute when I'm less of a floundering noob :)
Heya Grabthaar, welcome to Mapster. I actually did the same thing as you, I stuck with SC1 Mapping as well, I wasn't too into War3, :P. You've definitely come to the right place, ;).
I never had the money for Warcraft 3, so I really never knew what it was like. I bought SC1 about a year ago, never finished any maps I made, mainly due to lack of communities like SC2Mapster. However, I became very familiar with SCMDRAFT2 (An SC1 mapping program that was an excellent alternative to StarEdit [Which was sadly lacking]).
I hope to see your name on some maps in the future.
