Really there aren't that many. I remember there being more in the original starcraft. I can understand terran having the most since it's their game. But I want some protoss heroes. I wish they would have given us remade versions of Fenix and Tassadar just so we could have fun with them.
Well, since the Protoss mini campaign was only like 5 missions long you can't expect that many heroes.
We got Zeratul and all the side heroes (the high templar from the caves mission, and all the Sc1 heroes from the last mission).
Zerg should've gotten something like Torasque again. He was pretty cool.
Well, make a giant spidermine, tint it yellow, attach a photon cannon and name it Fenix ;)
Zerg has Swarm Guardian, Hunter Killer and FATTY!!! Not to mention Leviathan, the Infested Abominations, Omegalisks, Hybrids (yeah I count them as zerg)

I was only counting ACTUAL heroes, not special units. The only thing you listed that's a zerg hero is the Leviathan, the rest aren't heroes. Well... Maar's a hero, but he's not counted as zerg.
Well, in this case, in SC1 was no hero at all :) Depends on definition... if we count only units, which are actually flagged as hero this would be Leviathan and Kerrigan only; if we take sc1 zerg "hero" units into account, Hunter Killers count, too (they exist as unit in the editor; however are not used ingame, are they? Well, to my disappointment they use the standard hydralisk model :( )
If we define hero as a unit, which can actually level up, there are no heroes at all, just units with a fancy button.
Hunter-Killer is just a stronger Hydralisk, not a special individual.
If you want to count them, then you'd also have to accept all the buy-able mercenaries as heroes.
I think hes talking about unique models that fit singular roles. IE Nova, Tosh, maybe a vulture. Things like mother ships arn't really hero units, just like Frost Wyverns are not heros. Leviathan is another, they're more like super units rather than heroes.
Unique models are extremely limited but, and I find it frustrating when there is a model you can use and it has only a stand animation, like the placement models for protoss.
WC3 does have ALOT more unique models with detailed animations when it comes to units. Probably 100+ more.

You're underestimating SC2 in that regard. If you're just talking about "unique units", every hero has his own unique unit, every single one. There's quite a lot of model variation in the game.
Well right now the editor doesn't have too many models, but it's a work in progress. Hopefully there will be models from the zerg and protoss campain extensions and then there's the w3 sector they announced. So we just have to be patient for now, I guess...as always...
I do agree that more models would be nice, but the editor in no way has "too few", it has more then WC3 did. I mean sure a lot of those models are terran, but protoss, and zerg to a lesser extent, have a nice of models. Variety is always nice, but let's not forget how much we already have, you guys make it sound like there's as many models as there were sprites in BW.
You can use any unit model to make a hero.... I dont see why you need specific "hero" models....
Then you can attach smaller models to your unit to make him actually look different then the standard models.
You can also import anything from WOW... as well as create custom models...
When they release the blizzcon annouced custom maps, they are gonna have more "hero" models such as Drow, and Juggernaught from dota. Im sure there will be a couple other new ones.
Hey colt since you "didnt pay" for SC2 ... can you even down load updates for the editor?

There's quite a few heroes.
Protoss: Selendis, Urun, Artanis, Mohandar, Zeratul, Tassadar but he doesn't really count...
Terran: Raynor, Findley, Nova, Tosh, Swann, Stedman, um... I think that's all of em?
Zerg: Kerrigan.... and....... kerrigan :| Zerg didn't get shit.
Well, make a giant spidermine, tint it yellow, attach a photon cannon and name it Fenix ;)

Kerrigan controls all of the Zerg, there is no individual unit that thinks seperated. The Zerg are all connected to Kerrigan.
And Hunter Killer was in the campaign.
Do you mind telling me the mission? I did not notice them at all.
and btw
We have Tassadar, even though he is flying ;)

Exactly my point, its all the definition of hero ;)
Leviathan is also just a stronger zerg unit, not a special individual (you kill 2 of them after all ;) )
I simply count them as blizzard intended. Go to the map editor and click the 'hero' tab, any unit listed there is a hero, any unit NOT listed, is not.
