Recently I finished up work on one of my first mapping projects. I dunno if the page can be seen by anyone, but its awaiting approval at the following URL:

This is a complete remake of the original Team Melee setting from Starcraft. It allows you to mix and match your races like the original game mode as well as have both players control a single team seamlessly as though it were a single player. It uses custom dialogs to display a resource pool that both players can view and spend together.
However, since completing work on the map I'm sort of at a loss for how to get people to even play it. I haven't got the time necessary to bump my own map like some people I've read are doing right after a public popularity reset. I'm certain there's a desire for a map like this, but no idea how to get people to even know it exists.
Any tips from folks who know how to get people to play a map in the current popularity system?
EDIT: Also, how would someone even play it if they wanted to? I uploaded the map a week ago initially and "team melee" does not bring my map up in search results.
If that's a melee type, seriously consider exposing it to the TeamLiquid community to get player going (not that I advertise for them). Or submit it to Custom Live to get they playing in the livestream. Also the search function in the map list is retarded, if your map is not popular enough it wont even show up on the search.(Or you might have publish it as private) You can try other keyword if that's not the case. If that is, the only way to play is to add friend you and you invite them over
Thanks a bunch for the response progammer. It is a melee map, but it's technically a custom game since it uses dialogs and a custom race to get the resource sharing to function. I also bumped the resources on the map to 20,000 so it would be more casual-friendly than a typical ladder map.
Do you think the communities you listed would still be interested knowing that?
It depends, they're all melee and interested in new type of melee if they get bored of ladder. But if you bump resouces to 20k, better keep it at the custom side
TeamLiquid will stomp your map into the ground with such a mineral change.
A lot of the guys in this community are expert players who know their things, but they're all elitists who act like they have a stick up their behind.
If something isn't desgined "hardcode melee" but for "casuals" like the mineral change they'll just rage at it.
You decided to make a very "complicated" kind of map there. It's not fully melee (and competitive) but also not a real custom map, so there is no real community for that.
I think your best bet things like mineral change out and present it to TeamLiquid, and maybe to the normal Blizz forums.
Actually I published a second map called "Team Melee Ladder" which is the same map but all the resources have been set back to 1,500. So you can play normal or with additional resources depending on your preference.
EDIT: Also I couldn't post it on TL even if I wanted to, apparently requires a three day old account before you can do anything.

Its pointless to make Melee maps for SC2 that use the Custom Game stuff.
1 thing is players arnt going to be playing custom maps for thier Melee play they will play Quick matchs and Co-op matches for thier Melee play.
