I want to make a unit able to upgrade its gatherrate by a few different levels. Let's say this unit can harvest 1 mineral/time from the start and I want it to increase that to 2 for a small cost. Have been trying different methods but none seems to work. Can someone help me with this and point me in the right direction? Thanks!
I mean I want to be able to upgrade the unit ingame like in the mod "mineralz" for example. Changing the harvesting stats is easy in the editor but making a research-ability or buf that makes you increase it seems impossible! Maybe I bit off more than I could chew;)
Trigger catalog?
I didn't test it, but you got the main idea. Create a dummy ability(Upgrade) that has level, and when the ability(upgrade) is a success initiate a trigger like that.
Upgrade is a variable as Integer you can also work with % and... well anything from data. Just check the catalog field correctly.
Easier than it, just look a this post Upgrades Following it you will be able to make an uprade upgradable , I mean, increase the minerals it cost but keeping the same upgrade stats. Just change the mineral rate or vespene and the speed. No need of triggers.

Tried looking at the mule? Modify the stats in the harvest ability.
