So.... I just spent several hours working on a complicated territory thing on a melee map i downloaded. AND IT GOT RESET TO THE ORIGINAL MAP. why in the world do all my save files for melee maps get reset????
Just load the temp file! when you test play a map (I take it you did at least once test play it?) It saves them as temp maps, which you can drag from the folder. Ive recovered a lost map myself this way.

ya so im working on my map, and i click the test button, and what it tests is the original map, and then when i load it again, it loads as the original map, same for all the backups.
The same thing happened to be THREE TIMES. Downloaded a map via the open map >>>> battle net tab. Then save. Next day ITS RESET!! AAGRRHGHGHGH!! So now I copy the terrain out of melee maps into a custom map to avoid that.

Feel free to Send me a PM if you have any questions/concerns!
When you saved it, did you save it to a location on your computer? I'm pretty sure you need to "Save As" and select a location on your computer, otherwise just hitting "Save" will overwrite the Battle.net Cache. When you then go to load the map again, I want to say that it re-downloads it to make sure it has the proper version, which is why it "reset."
Yeah the issue probably lives in the fact that you used a Blizzard official map and they have protections or something. Just another way Blizzard is simultaneously protecting their assets and screwing the people over.

Ya, I saved it to my computer, also it 'reset" all the auto-backups, or saved them as the original.

me thinks you need to learn to use "save as" and rename the map so blizzards version doesnt over write what you were doing......
chalk it up as a learning experience and move on....

Excuse me, but i did save as, and I definitely did not save it as "tartanic rift" or whatever.
So, are you saying this wont happen again? It did.
From now on I'll be using maps from here when i want a melee map: http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/official-melee-maps/#w-current-maps-19

Just do what I said if you don't want to risk it. Copy the terrain into a new map.
