Many of us use IRC (Internet Relay Chat) to communicate to each other in near-real time in a chatroom fashion.
We recommend anyone who is serious about being part of the community to join us.
Our channel (#CurseForge on chat.freenode.net:6667) language is English, so if you do not know that, then chatting with us won't be of much use.
Please show restraint when talking so as not to troll or infuriate the other community members, as you will likely be kicked and/or banned.
There are many IRC clients available out there. You can alternatively use a web-based one such as FreeNode's Web Chat
Here is a 2 steps tutorial to join us on irc:
There are a few IRC channels on FreeNode related to the different games that support addon/map development. Clicking on them will join you to the channel with FreeNode's Web Chat.
iMisu has also created a Ventrilo server for us on SC2Mapster. Here's the information:
For those interested, Alzarath has setup an SC2Mapster Discord server.

I'm guessing the ventrilo server is not maintained anymore. Its from iMisu, who has disappeared for a while.

I, DrSuperEvil, TacoManStan and Xcorbo aren't on the list :/ Can't remember who we replaced, so I think someone else should update it.
I'm working on setting up a vent server.
Ventrilo server details: IP:vent.Helral.eu port: 3784 pass: sc2mapster User limit: 8 (due to limit of the free license)
Teamspeak server details: IP:TS.Helral.eu pass: User limit: 32 (due to limit of the free license)
Still have to make some more channels on it but there are already some basic channels there.
I've never been too fond of animated avatars. It makes to eyes focus on them instead of on the text =\
