Anyone else notice that fan-made text with the Starcraft font looks pretty ugly compared to Blizzard? Well upon closer look you can see that the SC font (in circulation) is wrong:
Public Font:
Blizzard Font:
Look at the difference in the shape of the S even... so where is the real Starcraft font? Does anyone have it? Does it exist?
I'd like to get this ironed out because the real one looks a lot more professional...
Did someone say graphic designer?
JK, i don't really have enough time or experience to make a professional Starcraft font.
BTW, is it StarCraft or Starcraft?
Update: After a long time of searching the closest thing I can find are some gif's that blizz made in starcraft 1. They are rather tiny and crude but they have the right shape. I may hire someone to create a better sc font from these gifs... anyone here talented enough?
Attached are some samples and the full list of gif letters.

Well I have photoshop so I could try to make some png's + psd's of the shapes of these letters, but I do not have the software to actually piece together a font and I have yet to find a decent font making program on the internet. I'm also not sure if I have the time right now, and tbh I'm more interested in which font Blizzard used for "Wings of Liberty" because I keep seeing it on a lot of SC related things now, and I'd love to be able to use it in other graphic works.
This is the closest I could find to the Wings of Liberty font, but it's still pretty far off. The WOL font is more geometric, bold, straight, has sharper edges, and more serifs than Kabel. And the uppercase Y looks more like a lower case y, which is not the case in WOL font.
Edit: More font discussion in the posts below...

I would guess that it was done by a graphic designer, and isn't actually a "font", but I don't know.
Great to be back and part of the community again!

Designing fonts seems pretty hard imo...
I think it's legally StarCraft but strangely enough Warcraft doesn't have an uppercase C.

I attached some of the fonts from SC2. They are variations of http://www.linotype.com/89986/microgramma-family.html#
I don't exactly know what the wings of liberty font is though...
I already have the Eurostile fonts, don't have the microgramma ones. I'ma get them though.
