Thanks I got extracted the SC2 files I was missing :)
Somehow it seems like each unit takes about half an hour to an hour to complete. Including converting the ogg's to wavs, creating the buttons and attaching the sound to each. So hopefully it will be done in a couple days.
One question though. I just realized something. For the Protoss and Terran sounds I had downloaded them from someone else who had extracted them But after extracting them myself... the Zerg folder is the only one that actually has the unit voices. The extracted files for Protoss and Terran only have the attacklaunch and sounds relating to attacks. Like I said though, the zerg units sounds are there though.
Not sure why that is. The directory I'm looking in is the base.sc2assets MPQ in the Liberty.sc2mod folder. Then in the MPQ its the Assets -> Sound -> (Insert Race here). If you look at Terran or Protoss each unit only has the non speech related sounds, whereas Zerg has speech... Is there something I'm missing?
Sorry for repeating, just wanted to make sure it was clear.
Just a note as well- I am not putting in the unit death sounds, or neural parasite sounds (when they are under the effects of it there are different sound files). Those may come in a later version but for now I am just doing the unit speech, not the extras like that.
I don't remember exactly which Mod they're in, just search for *.ogg and *.wav, some are in .wav form, I don't recall which ones either. You can just set it to filter *.ogg and then try *.wav within each asset/data file.
Ah, thank you. Very curious... Some units are in the directory I mentioned before while the rest are in the enUS.sc2assets folder instead... interesting. I did realize I left out a few protoss units though (the ones that were in the other folder) so I have been adding them... still 2 more protoss units to go THEN I will be done with toss lol.
It is by no means finished and I still need to resize it (I'm waiting to do that till last because in flash it doesn't look that small - but its still nice to not have to scroll long distances as I would have to if it were larger).
Up to about 850 sound files on there right now...
Let me know if you find any mistakes or missing sounds for Protoss units!
No its very tiny haha. I think if you hold control and mousewheel it may zoom in. I will make it bigger in later versions but it is easier to work with when its not several screens wide.
Don't worry it won't stay like that
EDIT: Nevermind, I tried the ctrl+mousewheel on the downloaded file and it does nothing. I guess I could make it bigger just to make you happy :P
I'll think about it and re-upload it if I do lol.
Also Terran will take a lot longer than Protoss did and Zerg will. It seemed like the average sound files per unit for Protoss was about 30, whereas Terran the average per unit is more like 45-50.
Well, I am about to update the file... but I ran into a slight problem...
Apparently the flash file can only be 2880x2880 pixels... and the updated one will be the max size, however I still haven't been able to resize the buttons so that they are bigger.
The only solution I can think of right now is to do 3 separate files, one for each race. Otherwise I don't know how I would fit it all into one document. If anyone has more experience with flash and/or has other ideas feel free to throw them out there.
Edit: When I download it I can right click and say zoom in, don't know if that will help for you too sixen or anyone else having that issue. It still appears very small though so I'll have to figure out what to do with that.
I could make it all super small... and then you have to zoom in a lot or something... haha.
I think I can fit Terran and Toss on 1 page... but since its already maxed out, and the height is filled... not sure what to do about zerg. I am really surprised that the max size is 2880x2880 pixels... seems odd to me, but it won't let me go larger.
If I were to add in heroes and critters as well, there is no way that would all fit in this document size unless everything was all very very small.
More people to need to give input on this lol not sure what to do for that. The buttons can be copied and pasted from different documents, so it wouldn't be hard to move things around if I need to, just have to figure out what exactly the solution will be.
I don't know how to do things like that. I'm new to flash. If its possible though I'm sure I can find a tutorial and whatnot. So it is possible to make multiple pages in the same document? Tabbed like sixen said?
Or something along those lines. What do you think would work best?
I was planning on just adding to it :P as far as I know I will only be hosting it here. and thanks.
Just wanted to say that Protoss is done. Yay! lol

Awesome, keep up the good work. When you get a chance, i'd like to check it out, :D.

I actually just finished protoss for real this time. woot lol.
Do you want me to upload it here or send it via pm or something?
If you stick it in the assets you can just upload your newest version every time you make updates and it'll keep the latest version on the "download."
What you can do is link the version you upload on the main page of your project so it shows there, :D.
@Sixen: Go
So the first version is up there now :)

Am I the only one that it appears ridiculous tiny for?

Yeah, I tried CTRL+Scroll, :P. Still works fine, just can't see anything, :(.
I've got faith in you iHR, keep it up, :).

Aha, zooming in works fine. There's gotta be a way to make it fit to the page though...
Another unit down...

Is it possible to add tabs?
You could try scripting a scroll bar. Either that or make it into each race into different pages depending on the amount of buttons.
^That sounds weird.
What I mean is that each race and critters have a tab. Those tabs have subpages that you can page through.

Something like this.
