Hey guys. Next week for Newbie Wednesday, I'll be creating a co-op campagin map. But there's a lot of different ways that could go. So post what kind of map you would like to see. Something based off of a campaign mission? Or something else? I'm planning on making it use a good amount of triggers, because I haven't done much of them in the show so far.

Perhaps show a little bit on how too create enemy units (AI) and balancing stuff out on amount of players.
Basic stuff you know like.. 3 players == x3 amount of units or so ?
Maybe also add some basic switch for 2 players, like player 1 stands on switch A, player 2 on switch B too blow up a entrance towards a zone deeper in this rpg map ?
I can't really come up with more basic stuff for now, but could help you out I guess. Sounds purely triggers in my opinion. I've gained my 'respect' as a terrain/helpful person, but trigger+data wise I'm 0%.
Maybe something like a multiplayer version of Thorner05? With canastar? Something like an infiltration. It would probably require some, but not too many, triggers. I'll probably do something like that. Maybe the players are split up at first and they eventually join together. Dunno... Anyways thanks for the feedback. ;)

I would prefer to see a coop mission with bases maybe Tychus4 with the fire wall, but without the fire wall. XD
Maybe a strong force which will you overrun after an amount of time, but you have to defeat several other bases where you have to build new bases (or fly to them with terran buildings).
Different difficulties were cool, too.
You could add some riddles which needs additional navigation, like kill different generators at the same time to create a path to the next base or something like that.
Edit: Some additional ideas appeared in my head!
If it's a two-player-coop map you can add some race-detection trigger and change the opposite force to a race which the players don't have (like Protoss+Zerg vs. Terran).
Additionally you should change the price of all mains in lower difficulties so you can easier make new bases.
If you don't want to do it, then you force me that I will do it. ;P

lol :D But yeah, good idea. I need to figure out how to set up the AI like blizzard does. It looks fairly simple but I don't normally do base building maps.. But yeah, thats a good idea. Like maybe the zerg are to your left and protoss to the right. And you need to push through to the right, because the zerg are slowly moving up from the left and will overrun you if you don't keep moving? Hmmm....

How about a map where the 2 players are separated and must get together to win?
Think, for example, of first mission on Char. One could be Raynor, the another Warfield. One has to hold insane waves and the other clean a safe path for him to leave or something :P.
For example, maybe the map could take place on a protoss planet. The goal is to get a relic, like in the actual campaign. You have one computer ally that is helping you fight back the protoss. At the end when you get the relic, a dominion ship comes down with a bunch of drop-pods. You find out your "allies" were actually dominion spies, and they become your enemy.
The mission then becomes an escape, where you have to use a variety of abilities and what not to get back to your main base before the dominon forces can reach you. Drop-pods would continuously crash down with re enforcement's for the dominion, so you have to choose which path to take and organize your units properly to avoid them.
Don't think of the Zeratul mission where you have to run away: It's not like that. You still have your main base and all of it's defenses, plus any that are placed after the cinematic to help you. (Maybe some reinforcements of your own?) So it is just defending long enough to be able to escape, while running away. Get what I'm saying? Get Raynor (Or whoever) back safely, while delaying the dominion for as long as possible.
Why not make a map with multiple game modes in it? Like have a capture the flag and then when one team wins it switches over to king of the hill and then various other game modes or you could set up a random game mode so that the whole match is just one game mode and you don't get to choose. I've been playing Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 lately so that's where I got the game mode ideas from.
I've got it planned out now ;) You guys will find out tomorrow (if anybody actually watches... lol). Anyways I wrote down all of these ideas for potential future topics, so thanks everybody!

Btw, you could make 1 ally be able to send reinforcements in capsules or something. Would be nice if you manage to implement something like what we're trying to do here: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/data/22336-i-want-to-er-well-come-and-read-xd/ (although this may not be that newbie xD).
