I'm using Starcraft II Editor, and the only issue I have with the map I created is when the workers spawn, some spawn at the far back of the initial structure and are not close enough to any minerals to gather. Is there a way to have them all spawn towards the front? I rotated the starting point but it seemed to do nothing. Thanks! (I'm new to using forums =) )
As far as your issue at hand without more specific info only two things come to find. Make sure that the footprint of the starting point does not encroach on the footprint of the minerals or gas. (ie look at the placement grid)
If that is not the issue then have you by chance being using the pathing tools at all to paint or for applying dynamic blockers?
I'm no pro in the data editor, but I could do it with triggers and points
of course there is probably an easier way than that, so ill wait to see if someone has an efficient solution
also, if hobbidude is recommending you paint a pathing blocker around the main building so the workers may spawn on one side, I do not recommend doing so, as that can impact gameplay later on.
On the contrary I meant the exact opposite. I know that such pathing tools can really screw things and I wanted to confirm they had indeed not been used.
Actually yes, I have been using pathing tools on some of the doodads on the map, none of these are near the startpoint. Should I just remove the pathing? The units spawn from "MeleeIntUnit" I think. Thanks so much :3 If you need any other info lmk
if the pathing isn't near the start, it should be fine. what do you mean by "meleeintunit"?
are you referring to the default melee initialization trigger?
if its a trigger you made, I need more than the name to understand
of course if all else fails, you could get a trigger rig to do it, although it can be time consuming.
I can post an example, but I think I'll wait to see if someone knows a simple solution
Sorry I known nothing about editor really. Yea its the default melee trigger. The ones I added are 'order workeers to gather nearby resource', thats all. And they do... just two workers spawn at the back of the start point.
It's a 1v1 melee map. Two starting points, any race. Normal amount of workers (I didn't edit this either). My problem is when they spawn, most of them will spawn in range of the mineral fields and automatically gather, only one or two spawn in the back of the starting point.
ok. I see. are you against using a trigger set up to make it work. It will work, but you say you r new to the editor. I can post an example, but still may take a bit. also, there -may- be another option. I can give you an example now, but u cant wait to see if someone has an easier answer. whichever you prefer

let me clear something up. is it a melee map? if not, does everyone use the same type of worker? do you intend for them to have only 2 workers?

I kind of get the concept of triggers and how to edit them. An example would be wonderful :) thanks a lot
alright.
ill create a trigger library and make it as simple as possible to transfer, ill upload it here for you to download as soon as im done.
