Hi
I have a problem with height offset.
In my test game, I can jump from cliff to cliff.
At the moment I use a Behaviour for height adjustment. It works if the playground is planar. Because it's height depend on the ground height.
If i jump from cliff to cliff, I go down and up like this.
How could i got a smooth cliff to cliff jump like this?
The height of a unit is set according to its Origin attachment point. The Origin point is a point remaining in the center of the selection circle, at height 0 of the current cliff level. When your unit moves between the cliffs, its Origin point goes down because the cliff level is lower in-between. The only way to prevent your unit from moving down between the cliffs is to force the Origin point to stay at the same height during the jump, regardless of which cliff level it passes over. It could lead to weird effects though, if the height of the cliff on the other side of the gap is higher or lower than where you started the jump... Your unit will probably warp to reset its height when the jump is finished.
Sorry if I can't help you more... I'm pretty sure there is a way to force the height of the Origin point though, probably by adding a movement modifier, or an effect setting the Origin height to the height at which the jump started...
The hunterling in the Left 2 Die map has a really great ability called leap. When jumping from cliff to cliff it does exactly what you want. Only problem is that the unit is a hunterling and it has custom actors and stuff that you would have to make.
if you do this with triggers and a parabola formula use a simple function that nearly everybody used in wc3 (SetUnitZ)
i also use it in my ship system. http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/ship-system/

Ignore terrain height while jumping (Height becomes absolute).

What’s that picture below the video? It won’t load for me.
@Segento: Go
Can't open that map because of the custom lib from u
Use this dependency with it.
That should work, let me know if it doesn't.
@Segento: Go
well nice work. But I think Only trigger can help me. I don't want to copy mover from reaper. I want to fly over without losing height.
If you use the ability that it has, and click on a cliff of the same height then that’s what it does it jumps over the space in between the cliffs.
@Segento: Go
OK sry. I see how it works:
nice
Yup, I hope that helps you out.
It would be really cool if you could get an animation for your unit that looks like it is jumping over the space.
@Segento: Go
how do u export the unit of a map to other? dont't tell me copy and past :D
Thats how I got the hunterling in the mod. I copy and pasted EVERYTHING.
If any body test this out and gets it to work please pm me or post here. This is a really cool idea I was hoping to add into one of my older maps.
