Ok, that works, do you have part of the map that you could give me so I can work on it a little or a list of rooms you are going to make for sure so i can make quests for them already, and I rethought about the number of rooms and I think 50-70 would be good.
One last thing, if you don't mind placing barrels (whichever model you like but only one model as long as it look like it would explode if you shoot it, doesn't even need to be a barrel), I would latter replace for explosives, please tell me which model you choose too.
Ok great (just to make sure you don't mean full map do you... cause that would be awesome), and it's ok but next time can you try to check at least once a week ??
I have had an incredibly bad case of 'artist block', but I will have at minimum 1/2 of the map by the end of the week uploaded. After that, I will decide if I have the time to finish it. I'm very sorry that I can't do the entire map and that it's taking so long.
Edit: 1/4 of the terrain will be done, however, there are many other things that go into it. With some afterthough, I will do the following:
1/4th of the terrain
It will be fully completed, including many doodads, hand painted/mixed textures and lighting changes for absolute atmospheric effect.
I could finish the entire map's terrain, but it would be incredibly boring and flat, which isn't what you want, I assume.
Edit 2:
I've made the entire map dark so that it looks nicer. It looks incredibly nice, *BUT* ONLY people with graphics above, I believe, medium or high, will be able to actually SEE the map. Now, there is a big problem here: Either the map has a rather bland atmosphere in comparison, or players with lower end computers can't see anything.
I have two solutions:
a) Have two versions of the map, one lit and one not, or
b) Having an options menu where the player can change the lighting (using triggers) before the map begins.
Can't wait to see what you got, and don't worry about not finishing I'll try to follow what you got to make it look good. About the map being dark, option 2 sounds good and I might use 1 as a backup in case players complain that graphics cause lag
This is amazing, the dark can make for an even better stealth element, I am going to need to make some sort of way for the player to see what is in there, maybe an ability that lights up an area for 10 sec or something. anyways this is awsome
That's some really good stuff there ScrinKing. I love how the outdoors area is empty (as it should be on a space station, really), but still feels like there's things going on. In turn, the indoor areas do really feel confined and almost claustrophobic, and it works pretty well.
One thing to note though: your use of lighting is astonishing, but the two of you should keep in mind that non-global sources of lighting (so doodads like lamp posts) don't show for players playing on a lower graphical setting. If you make a map that is really dark and uses environmental lighting to focus on specific areas, the map will simply be completely dark for lower-end users.
I was aware about the lighting issue for lower end users, which is why I suggested to have a fully lit version of the map, either using triggers or otherwise.
Well the thing is it seems that it just vanished, not deleted or anything in that sense. All of my other maps are still there (note: I have 3 maps folders and it's in none of them) and there's no trace of it in my trash or anything (which I don't empty). I'll keep looking for it.
I've found an ancient editor auto backup, so if I can't find it I'll have to give that... I don't think I have the motivation to redo stuff.
don't worry, i have slowed down on mapster as i am going to try to make a game without the editor, i probably wont ever finish my map anyways, thanks for helping anyways.

Hey, sorry for the late response. I will give you the map soon, because today I have much more time to do stuff, so I can get more done.

Have some screenshots, in that case!

Thanks moz!

Ah, I see now. Sorry about that, I'm in this thread for the pics :D
Haven't touched the editor (much) for a week, because lazy/busy/other, do you want what I have so far or are you happy to wait?
I can wait but if you don' t want to work on it anymore go aged and give it now
Exams, assignments.
Guess you'll have to wait longer.
Its ok I got something else taking my time
SO AS IT TURNS OUT MY COMPUTER DELETED THE FILE
Or something. I am working to recover it now, but I don't think I'll find it. :(
@ScrinKing: Go
Try googling 'undeleted software' to try and recover the file. Just don't move or download anything new.

Alright then. Give me a yell if you want the backup that I found.
