Did you scroll down on your mouse while holding CTRL? You have to scroll down a couple times, just keep scrolling down until the skybox shows.
Also make sure you have your tileset to Bel'Shir or one of the other few tilesets that has a working skybox. You can change tilesets in the Map Options (Textures I believe). Only other thing I can think of would be graphic settings if that doesn't work.
Alrighty, well this is my first shot at the WTEs. Took about an hour to recreate and I'm not that happy with certain parts of it but I've done all I can do lol.
Edit: Apparently not, that lighting was ATROCIOUS.
I also had trouble with the skybox. A lot of the time, the only way I can see the skybox is if I make a camera and set it's view distance really far (CTRL+Mouse Scroll Down doesn't always work to see the skybox). And when I change the skybox, I have to restart the map editor in order to see the new skybox. Both problems I can work around, but it's just kind of inconvenient :p
Yes, I did EVERYTHING. I tried and tried and tried. I did what I was told in FAQ, I tried restarting my editor, I tried reselecting Bel'Shir skybox, I tried CTRL mouse click, right click, and scroll in all directions, and I even tried upping my graphics!!! It just doesn't work! :'(
In your screenshots you aren't using "Lock Game View Settings" (hotkey V). The skybox wont display unless its locked to game view settings (i.e. no grid on your map). Maybe thats the problem?
Edit: Cbrag you might be able to fudge some of the lighting effects by increasing the HDR multiplier on those doodads? The original picture's plants definitely look more saturated.
Make the body of water larger to take up some of the empty space.
More rock-like textures on the mountains maybe?
Make the terrain less even. From the original picture, it seems to be bowl shaped. Then you could make better use of the trees with that I think.
Add more doodads and foliage.
Play with the fog and lighting.
Just wanted to throw this post out here for the sake of learning and giving tips.
If you look at the terrain I made (on the 1st page), you will notice that it has this sense of depth because of the three hills (especially the one in the background).
One thing for you who don't already know this, is, if you are going for a showcase terrain (e.g something not ment to be played), you don't have to try hard to fill out the map with your terrain.
What I did, and have done for all my submissions for WTE is picking an angle, and then creating an illusion. (To me this feels like general knowledge, but I'm throwing this out here in case some, or even just one of you didn't think about this). By just focusing on what the camera will see, it might be alot easier for you to create something that looks amazing. ...From one perspective ;)
I attached a picture of my submission for this weeks WTE so you get an idea of what I mean.
To me at least, it doesn't limit you too much, saves you time and you can focus more on making one incredible scene than one half-assed overview
Disclaimer: I am not calling any pictures in this or previous threads as half-assed overviews.
Edit: Also added a picture of my submission for the Bridging the Gap WTE, submitted image here
You should try adding foliage. If your graphics aren't set to high, you can set your graphics to ultra and it shouldn't make a big difference on performance.
Zarakk, thanks for the tip, this might actually benefit me a lot - I'd rather just recreate a whole damn forest instead of making an illusion. It should help Yuka as well - take another close look at your picture, Yuka. What you need to do is add even more of that grass. You don't need to cover up the entire ground with it, but right now it just looks like there's some random strands of high grass - put them closer to the camera so the entire bottom half of the screenshot is filled up with them.

These two things contradict eachother and confuse me :o
You're saying that you might have use for my tip at the same time you're saying that you would prefer not using it.
Anywho, no problem at all if it helps you in anyway :) That's what we're here for.
My bad Yuka, I meant you should turn your TERRAIN graphics on ultra x] To do this, go to File > Preferences > Video and from there you can edit your graphics, or just reset it back to the settings you have for in-game.

I tried the FAQ, but couldn't get it to work. :( I tried everything and I STILL can't get it to work. :(

Data Editor > Terrain Texture Set > [Your Tileset] > Skybox > Bel'shir
Then scroll out alot with the mousewheel. (+ CTRL)

My first attempt in WTE. It's not very good, is it? Mine is a little bit empty, my editor started to lag, to many trees I think.
@Yuka, make sure you have show backgound enabled (hotkey K).
Edit: I Improved mine, changed the mountains, and added fioliage.
This thread has win all over it. I especially loved the first ones, but Exaken yours is pretty cool as well!

WIN!?! MOZARED NEVER SAID THERE WERE WINNERS!?!?!

Not a bad start. Some suggestions:

I updated it, but it still has some work to do. :(
Edit: Updated hills
Edit: Made hills look more like the picture
Edit: Wow, maybe I can become an artist! :D

I did that in the game, but idk how to do that in the editor. :(

I'm saying I'd normally rather recreate the whole damn forest - now I've got an alternative. It was unclear, yeah.

Allright I decided to give this weeks a go, the cliffing doesn't look as real due to limited terrains but I have tried to mimic the design of it
