Agreed. I did what that thread said for replacing them in my map. Weird thing is it works when I test my map the first time, but after that, any subsequent tests (until I restart the editor) display the old minerals icons. Might be a "Test document" issue only...
The resource icon is referred to by GameData\Assets.txt, which I don't believe is exposed anywhere in the editor. But you should be able to replace that via the import manager; the default version is in Liberty.SC2Mod. It's a pretty small file.
They're the following keys:
UI/ResourceIcon0
UI/ResourceIcon1
UI/ResourceIconSupply
It's entirely possible that this won't fix OneTwoSC's problem, though.
Bumping Old post.
Assets.txt apparently is a reserved file name. I can not go about replacing the .dds file, 1.) because it won't let me rename with dashes, and 2.) because I am using the custom resource, which uses the heart icon, which is also used for showing life costs by abilities such as stimpack. Any more help is available?

Can anyone tell me how to change the resource icons that keeps track of minerals, vespene and supply on the top right of the UI?

As far as I know, it's still only possible by replacing the related .dds files.
in the thread listed below you can find them listed.

How would I go about extracting an unmodified Assets.txt?
