I want to create a blizzard like spell where it doesn't just deal damage to everyone within the AoE at the same time. I want the icicles coming down and actually hitting the units and them getting damaged like that. How would this be done?
Have a tree of Create Persistent effects with the first randomizing between the second tier of persistents. The second tier then apply a Launch Missile effect at different offsets. I advise reading the tutorial about raining cows for making the visuals. On missile impact apply a small Search Area effect that then does the damage.
