ive made a tower based on the photon cannon and there is no attack sound. in the actor, ive linked the photoncannon_attacklaunch to the attack in the sounds - sounds field and it still isnt working.
also i want the death to not be the photon cannon death since i changed the actor's model. in combat - death effects, i changed the model to hallucination death. I did this on a different building and it worked just fine, but it wont change for this building for some reason:
Your attack launch sound does not go in the Sound - Sounds field.
Select your actor, and look for Combat - Launch Assets +. Open that up, click on the Sound button, then choose your sound.
If you want a sound when it hits the target, same deal, look for Target - Impact Map +. Open that up, click on the first line, then sound button, then choose a sound.
Here's the deal, using an example of my map / unit.
I've made my custom carrier(Beam Ship), fires a Beam Weapon, called Beam Swarm. I have an Actor as Actor Type - Unit(my Custom Carrier).
I've made an actor named after the weapon(Beam Swarm), as Actor Type - Beam (Simple). (Through this actor, I can customize which animation the beam is)
I've made an actor named after the weapon and added Attack to the name(Beam Swarm Attack), as Actor Type - Action. (It is through this actor that you will find Combat - Launch Assets + and Target - Impact Map +.
Take a look at the image. Red = Combat - Launch Assets + and Blue = Target - Impact Map +. Take not that NONE is selected in the Impact Map field before clicking the sound button.
awesome thank you, i didnt know you needed an attack actor, i guess it makes sense that you would. still really puzzled on the whole death animation thing still. seems like it must be a bug or something.
edit: got the death animation working, apparently it was using the custom death instead of death effects.
but, now i have a new problem :(. when i build my building there is a black sphere for the build model and it remains there after it is done building. so its my building model with a black sphere underneath it. i have a build model set for the actor which is the same as the model for the actor. where is this black sphere coming from?
