Hi, i searched ALL the forum, and i didn't found what i was looking for ...
I would like to know how, by example, to make a PSI-Storm Ability that will do 50 damage at level 1; 100 damage at level 2 and 300 damage to level 3 ...
I know i can change the cost, the cool down, but i don't know how to change the damage, to add an effect, or to change the range 3:
Secondly, this is a recurrent problem i'm not the only one to suffer of : How do i make my level 1 of my ability only to be "bought" (with charges) when my hero is level 10, and then level 25 for the second level ? (I know i can make a requirement for minimum level, but it only works with the first level :( )
I would really need your help, because without that my abilities will suck D:
Hope to have a lot of answers :)
Mac
PS : Sorry if there are grammar/synthax mistake, english is not my first language
Commonly you duplicate all effects and add the duplicated effect chains to the ability. The level 2 ability will use the 2nd effect in the effects list.
Also, you can add new tooltips and icons for each level within the spell, you don't need to create new buttons. The lvl 1 description and icon will be taken from the button, any further ones from the ability, if so configured.
kueken531 : How will my ability link the level 2 with the first duplicated effect (with modified damage) ? I mean, how can i make her leave effect 1 when she's level 2 and go effect 2 instead ?
DrSuperEvil : I did watch his tutorials, but in the 2 i saw about heroes (the first one is 2 videos long and the second is 9 videos long i think ... ), he "cheats" with events and effects, and this don'T work for my abilities D:
Thanks for your answers, they're helping me a lot, and i'm waiting for more :D
If you use the "standard" way of having abilities with multiple levels involving a Learn type ability and a Veterancy type behavior, the ability is leveled by executing the learn ability, and once it hits the next level, it will use the next effect you added to the list of effects for the skill.
Ok thanks a lot guys ... and a last question : Do i have to use events for my level 2 and + effects like OneTwoSC did or just adding the effects to the ability will be Ok ?
Since the different levels of your ability use different effects, you will most likely need to individually add the actor events to reference each individual effect in order for the appropriate visuals to be present for all of the ability's levels.
By "actor events", I meant within the same actor. Yeah, you don't need multiple actors unless you're wanting different visuals, but modification of the visual actor will be required to tie the actor to each level of the ability.

Create 3 different spells.

Anyone knows plz ?

I know his tutorials are long winded but they tell the facts. The events are for actors and purely visuals.

Depends if you want different visuals for them or not.

Actually not, he just needs the same actor that has the different effects creating the same actor. There is even an ingame example but I forget which.

am i missing sth?! isnt it possible to just create an upgrade that increases the abilities dmg and cooldown?
He is refering to leveled abilities like in WC3 using the Veterancy behaviour level up.

Ok thanks a lot to all of you for your explanations ... I'll mess around trying to test what you learned me :)
