There is probably a cap for the number of effects an upgrade can have, I just didn't know I'd hit it. I've been adding several units to the standard weapon and armor upgrades but the Protoss shields upgrade is the one causing me trouble. I can't add more effects to it using the editor. Is it possible to go over the limit editing the xml file?
So... I decided to try my own idea. Saved mod as components and included the entries into the xml file, but some that werent showing on the editor were already there, so it means I could add them via editor. In the end this weird thing happened: I opened the components mod in the editor and hit Test Document, started to tech up and test things, but things were procuded in double, and apparently upgraded in double as well. I mean I hit Dragoon or Scout button once and in the end 2 Dragoons/Scouts come out of the Gateway or Stargate. I hit upgrade air armor button and when it finishes my ship has armor level 2. Not evrything wa affected the same. I quit the game and then tried again and got the same result. The files are all screwed now.
So I deleted the components version and started normal version on editor and ran a test. Turns out its ok, so the conversion to component or something else corrupted the mod. I'm too tired now to try again. I hope noboby else runs into such stupid problems.
@onslaughtbear: Go That's an option, but not a good option for a series of melee maps. I'd have to keep adding triggers to each of them, and some of them aren't even mine. But if I don't find any other way thats what I'll do.

@Kueken531: Go I t works!!! As I suspected it isnt a limit, only one more editor bug. Adding the entries using XML view solved my problem. You can try it too onslaughtbear.

Yea, I encountered this problem as well a while ago.
What i did was a simple trigger that checks if this upgrade is completed, it will upgrade another upgrade which does the other stuff that you want

You don't need to save the map as components list to edit the XML stuff, just enable the XML view within the editor.

It got added in patch 1.4, I believe, so it was not possible from the start.
