I'm looking to have an ability with a range based on all allied Command Centers+. You can target anywhere within, say, 20 units of any allied Command Center+. The game makes use of allied AI Command Centers so I can't give them the ability for them to cast.
If there are no possiblilty of the player being protoss, you could try powerfields and creating powerfield generators at those point
Very smart idea that I got that mostly working. It seems you can also change the type of power, so if Protoss ever is introduced there shouldn't be problems. The issue lies in that the ability doesn't check for allied power sources, just your building's power grid; mid-game the map is populated with allied AI buildings, not yours. So, the issue now is trying to share power sources with allies, or at least getting validators to check for allied power sources. Anyone have ideas on how to do this?
If you're curious as to how I set up the power source, I simply created a new power behaviour and added it to Command Centers, Orbital Commands, and Planetary Fortresses. I then gave the ability effect a validator checking for that type of power. There's a few visuals I need to fix, and figure out how to give it a proper error alert, but otherwise it works fine (except for the above issue).
Open -> Battle.net -> Any coop map name, Also i looked it up, and it seems that there are duplicates created whenever a pylon is placed that belong to the ally.

Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)

Isnt it possible as protoss to build on your allies' powerfield in coop missions? You might wanna take a look there.
Where can you find the coop map files?
