Simply I am trying to sort of recreate the Night Elf's ability to 'cloak' when stationary. I was wondering if someone could provide me with a bit of direction.
If I understand things correctly I need to give my unit a passive permanent cloak ability that has a custom requirement like:
Stationary Cloak Check
Use > Count Ability Stop Completed at Unit
Show
Does this do what I think it does? The ability only becomes active when the unit is stopped? I could build this effect in triggers easily, but that is.... well..... cheating. ;D
A validator might be more useful here. Requirements are usually used for more "static" checks, like upgrade levels, ability levels or unit count or something (your example would not check, if the unit uses stop, but if it has the stop ability)
Validators are used for the more dynamic checks, I am sure there is a way to check for movement via validator, most likely even a predefined one. Have a look at the standard validators and at the types of validators you can create, maybe you will find something.
The cloaking would be a behavior using this validator, and the command card could show a button for this.
The actual shadowmeld could be a simple "stop" clone with another button (or maybe more like hold position + hold fire? Depends on what you want exactly)
Mostly what Kueken said. Just wanted to add that you could add the validator to your cloak behaviour: There's a field that deactivates the behaviour when the validator evaluates to true (or false?).
I'm trying to create a meele map which the terran can have all the passive and ability command.I can't do it with the data so I have tried triggers but it can't play in meele gametype.
So can someone help me to do that with the data module.
make a behavior of the buff type the unit has on permanently set Behavior - Modification - State Flags to cloak and give it the Behavior - Validators (Disable) Caster Not Attacking and Caster Is Stationary.
