In my map I intend to have a large selection of items and four inventory slots hotkeyed as Q W E R. Everything I've tried has failed; the inventory continues to use only Num1, Num2, etc. instead of the hotkeys I assigned in the buttons for the slots or items. -This Tutorial- written back in April 2010 was able to assign a hotkey " I " to the inventory but the same procedure didn't work for me; given the age of the tutorial, is it no longer possible? Can anybody think of some alternatives?
Wow, sounds nice on paper. But it does not seem to work anymore unfortunately. I tried it out myself, but like you said it did not work and the test map attached to the post is not working at all; it seems to be entirely corrupted.
There were like three you had to change for each. So there were 3 rows that list Num1, Num2, Num3 and so on. I changed them all and it worked fine. But in-game, players can access there hot keys and change it to what ever. The important thing is that at the start of the map, im pretty sure this method will set the keys to your settings.

In case anyone looks at this in the future, you change the hotkey text to the CAPITAL letter of what you want. It cannot be lowercase.

Starcraft2 mapping is an art. It is inspired by the soul and crafted from within and brought out, but not all artists have the skills to create it, which is why I need data/trigger editors. Come find me if you want to be part of something great.

if you go to the text module, find the text key for the inventory buttons and change those.
I went into the text module, but it seems that only "visually text renames" the hotkeys but not the actual hotkey?
For example I found the num 1, num 2, num 3, num 4, num 5, num 6 in the text module (which are the item hotkeys)
And i changed them to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 respectively, however its only a visual change (in the item description it will say (1) instead of (num1)
The hotkeys that need to be pressed are still num1, num2, num3, num4, num5, num6
Does the text module method really work?
Anyone know if there is a way to change the hotkeys of the items?
