my problem is that a house in my city terrain blocks vision. so my idea was to set the opacity of every house to 0.35. this works great except one thing, it doesn't show selection radius or other actors. you basically just see unit actors behind the house. my snd idea was to use occlusion but unfortunatly it doesn't work without units behind the houses.
so my question is, is there any way to turn on the occlusion effect permanently?
well this was my first solution and it doesn't work. you cannot see selection radius nor some other models, like signal terran small. one strange thing i did notice was that one model was visible through the doodad (with opacity 0.35), the green bubble from zerg caster (sry dunno the name right now). i have used the same actor + model and changed the model file but this didn't work, so it has to do with the model itself not the settings in editor (i guess).
as i have written, opacity on actors prevents certain models from being rendered behind them and that is the problem!
hello there,

another idea was to modify the house model to have opacity from the beginning, but i lack the tools to change the use of alpha from team colours to transparency. my request wasn't answered yet + not 100% sure if this will work out. You could just set the opacity in the actor events. No need to do anything with textures.
