Hey there. I am wondering if anyone knows how to fix my problem
I am currently using some WoW models for a map I am making in sc2. The problem I am having is the attack animation with bows. The complete bow draw/attack animation is in 2 separate animations. Having just the attack animation from the WoW model makes it look wrong and jerky. Is there a way to combine the 2 animations one after the other so that it becomes one complete attack animation for sc2 animation purposes, or is there a way to get sc2 to play both animations one after each other for an attack.
Another thing is how do you get sc2 to use specific animations for specific attacks. say if he had a meele weapon and a ranged.
This can easily be set up in the actor's events. You can select specific animations, chain them at will, modify their separate animation speeds and even cut them off prematurely or skip ahead.
Deleted your Action and Model actors, they are not needed at this point (you will need the action later when adding a projectile and impact effects etc, but yours was pretty messed up, better create a new one then)
Reset your animation stuff and just modified the default attack animation bracket to open with A and play B as content. Also checked (Content) Play Once
Some cosmetics, like adding a high damage point to the weapon to match the long draw animation, slowing the attack speed massively and actually giving it a range. Also I increased the scale, so I could see easier, how it looks.
Not sure, what caused the duplication problem, didn't look into it.
Part of your problem was, that you tried to change the name of the animation instead of the actual strings causing the desired animation to play. Your animation bracked can be called Attack, AttackB, Spell or FooBar; it won't make a difference, as long as you select the correct strings from the dropdowns.
The animations of your model are called just A and B, nothing with attack or whatever, so I just selected those in the dropdowns, as you can see.

I suspected that be the case. I still am struggling to understand actors at the moment. More research required!!! :P
Thanks for the help!
@zarwalski: Go
Ok had a little play around. I'm getting there but still have the following issues
Have assigned both attack animations but she still only does the first one
when she attacks she duplicates her self, there is the standing model and the attack model at the same time so you see 2 of her when she attacks :S
my current set up is this
Unit Lady
Actors
Lady
Lady Attack
Effects
Lady Bow Damage
Models
Lady Model
Weapon
Lady Bow Attack
The Lady Attack Actor has these events
Actor Creation AnimPlay attackb A,B (the 2 animations I want)
Effect. LadyBowDamage.Start At Caster Create
AnimDone AnimName attackb Destroy
Thanks
Edit: ok she does do the anim B however it is just before the end of A so at the end 3 animations over lap, stand,a and b
Edit2: attached the map as it is probably clearer that way. :D. Thanks
Okay, I cleaned it up for you a little bit.
What I did:
Not sure, what caused the duplication problem, didn't look into it.

Very nicely done. I like.
