You might be able to do something in the data editor, but It's definitely possible with triggers.
Might require some looping and detection, but I'm not exactly sure what you need. Can you be more descriptive please?
After that I might take a hiatus for a few weeks, and then in September I have school, which will take up most of my time. Not saying that I won't be available, but that I will have much less free time.

Hi, I am an intermediate level programmer looking for a team.
Although I do not know how custom SC2 scripting works, I'm sure I could pick it up in a few hours or less. I've already done some nifty things with triggers alone, so check out my maps on the curse system.
I've been programming in C++ for about 5 years now, and have some experience with other languages too.
I'll be available for most of the summer, up to about July 30.

Did you try storing the triggering unit in a variable? Global perhaps?

You could fake it by giving the zergling a wider turn radius in the data editor...

You do realize that a lot of the fields in the data editor are "advanced" and you have to click on show advanced to see them?
