I spent some time messing around with the actor events. What is an easy way to make an actor shoot a missile and hit the target for an ability or even an attack? I have been able to create impact animation and launch animation but it feels lacking. I used ModelStyleAnimationOneShot for both.
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but... Have you tried using an Action actor? Pretty much all attacks and missile/beam related abilities use action actors.
Yeah but I ended up messing it up and had no animations at all. My problem is that I don't know how to use it. By a missile/impact attack I mean anything that has a missile that goes from caster to target. Viking air attack, Yamato, Goliath Anti Air attack, Missile Turrets...etc. I have figured out for the most part how to do events for Model based actors but not Action.
Just select the weapon/ability/Launch Missile effect on one of those, right-click and "duplicate" (or Ctrl+U) and tick everything in the Actor, Effect and Unit categories that isn't colored grey.
Usual setup is: Launch Missile effect, Impact effect (usually damage), Ammo Unit, Ammo Unit actor of type Missile, Action actor using the Launch Missile effect as the Launch token, Impact effect as the Impact token, and Ammo Unit Missile Actor in the Art: Missile field.
Yamato, Photon Cannon weapon, HotS Fungal, Phoenix/Goliath/HellstormTurret for multimissiles.
Note you can use the same effects for weapons and abilities, an Effect-Target ability cast is functionally identical to a single shot from a weapon in that regard.

What would be a good ability to duplicate for this? My previous attempts were with yamato and they did not go well.
