Vexal Tower Defense
Update coming in the future.
Tower Defense.
Featuring:
- 43 levels, including bosses with special abilities unheard of in a WC3 Tower Defense.
- Some levels have special abilities, again, which were unheard of in WC3.
- Unique towers which were not possible with the WC3 editor, such as towers with the Carrier's Hangar ability, upscaled to store an unlimited number of a variety of powerful units, or Sunken's ability to stack and uproot towers.
- Two unique races, Humanoid and Sunken. Sunken is currently a work-in-progress. The races are polar opposites in terms of play-style.
- Hero-Towers. Hero-Towers gain experience and level with kills, and are allowed to choose their own distribution of skill points, as well as purchase powerful weapons to equip.
- Three modes of play: Full Team, Left vs Right, and Solo. More modes are currently in the works.
- Intense difficulty. You will not win your first try. You will not win your second try. You will need a full team of coordinated players to make it halfway through my game.

Some notes:
- I usually am not able to actually test versions of my map privately. Due to the nature of Battle.net 2.0, in order to originally test this map, I had no choice but to upload it publicly in its half-finished form. It is still unfinished. Every so often (as in, every few hours, a few times a day), I upload a new version with a small addition (such as a new tower, unit, ability, or balance change). If I were able to complete this map in privacy before uploading it, I would. However, due to the fact that the maximum party size is 6, and this is a 10 player map, it is almost impossible for me to organize a full private game. I apologize if a version is uploaded with game-breaking bugs.

I have uploaded a map with the triggers and object data in my TD.
This file contains all of the triggers and data for my tower defense. Feel free to open and examine these. You may take any part of this map's triggers. You may reuse any of my methods for creating an object. However, I request that you not use any of the ideas contained in this map. You may use any piece of an object's data to learn how to apply a similar function to your own object. You may not copy the idea of the object itself.
If you wish to build your map ON TOP of this one, please contact me first. I will not forbid such action, but I have disabled certain function to prevent such from happening without studying the map. I did so because I am uploading this with the intention that people will use this map as a tool to answer specific questions, ie "how do I make a hero" "how do I make a tower launch units" etc.
I do not request credit on maps where parts of my map are used. I DO request that you contact me if this upload was helpful, and let me know exactly how it was so. So that I may keep track of whether this is useful to anyone.

The thor use to be killed by the tempest lightning i believe. But now its magically fixed i think. Also what did you mean sacrifice a marine to unstuck?
lavaspewer is very nice. sunken is pretty well rounded. Though missing a high dpsing late game AA that makes lvl 42 very very difficult
I think the carbonitium upgrade(armored dmg for ghosts) could be knocked down to 100mins
Is there anyway to change the requirements for the Higgs where if you are teching for a nuke you don't get blocked off from building the higgs because you have to upgrade your older buildings? Like needing the Turret OR the Guass?
5 of us played LvR mode and just beat all 43 levels. It took a lot of coordination and by the end we had 5 Apocs.
We did notice a problem with the last Boss mobs. They did whatever they wanted. Beyond the fact that they have crazy ridiculous regen, we still would have killed them both if they did not destroy all of our bases. One of the bosses managed to wipe out 3 Apocs, 2 Higs and my lvl 17 hero in one shot. Little impossible to beat something that does that to you in one shot.
The one thing that seems to be lacking is effective air attacks for the sunken in late game. We only play with me in the back as Sunken due to the lack of air damage. I just build up Eradicators for ground to help them focus on air.
ya apoc changes make it so nobody even tries to go for it. I say take ion cannon off the reqs and it's good.
as for thor. its not the thor being attacked. it dies as the enemies walk right by it In a tight maze.
also did u change lava spewer? seems different cant tell if they were more/less effective because my base by that point killed everything.
Maybe a good upgrade for the sunken would be for the lava spewer, have it upgradadable into a either a pure anti air tower or a pure anti ground tower. (basically make the eradicator an upgrade of the lava spewer) And I still don't like the arc of the lava. And the Thor I still think should have splash dmg. Maybe 50% splash. And am upgradable spore that instead of actually attacking air, it would grab them and basically ensnare them so that ground units could attack them for like 2 seconds.
I have concerns about the new requirements for the apoc.
Is it even remotely possible to get it in the game? I mean.
Let me do the math real quick.
Bunker=5 Turret=8 Lazer=20 Concussion=45 Stinger=64 Spider=85 Tank=104 Tesla Coil=150 Phaser=211 Tempest=300 Higgs=413
All that comes to a grand total of 1405.
Then we need to upgrade everything we can.
Guass=52 Lazer=105 Homing Rocket=162 Protector=205 Strider=400 Fusion Coil=320 Tempest=495 Apoc=1300 Total cost=3039
Then lets add up the two together 1405+3039=4444
So in 43 waves that means you need to average 103 minerals each wave to achieve this by the end of the game. Even with both bosses downed, and the extra minerals it gives you i still feel this is out of reach. Specially considering I have failed on panthers everytime with out an apoc, even with 2 eradicators a higgs and a ion cannon, they are just to fast!
Unless everyone just feeds you minerals all game long, which most people dont really like doing because we want to succeed in our way not give someone else all the glory. I could be wrong and this could easily be attainable but ive yet to see it happen and ive gotten to wave 34 since the new change and have gotten to ion and tempest upgrade.
I can figure out what's wrong with the Thor. If anyone has any anecdotal recounts of instances of it disappearing, it'd be helpful to know. I looked at it a couple times, and I see nothing different about it from otter towers other than its weapon and model.
The AOE dmg attacks that the enemies have will pop ur builder. Not all enemies have AOE so wont always destroy your builder. Fix could be to make sure all the enemies just have single attacks 'the tesla coil attack'
also the thor gets destroyed if enemies get too close.
Are the Sunken going to get some sort of late game anti-air? That's really killing them at the moment. Love the Eradicator, but only hit ground. Also, more upgrades all around for sunken.
Thanks for map, BTW. It's the only one I've played all week. LOL.
And when is the recurssive tower gonna be put in? Seems like what is needed against late air.
How about those situations where a newb walls in and gets his base blown up + his builder.
You could make it possible to rebuild the builder at their metropolis/infestation; sort of like hero.
Also needs a new system to unstuck the enemies who stopped because of walling.
But the main issue with the lava spewer is, late game when things are bogging down it is hard to manual target. And with the concussion shells for upgraded turrets and the creep slow, things tend to get clumped up, where you might have 15 units on top of each other. Maybe if it reached its target faster then it would all be solved. (Love how it does + to armor and reduced to massive btw) Or maybe instead of an arc attack, it was a straight line. If it didnt take a second to get to its target then all would be solved.
Tell it to attack the first target in the line. It'll hit the second or third. I'm not sure why it doesn't produce a full square of creep. It is bugging me.
And is the lava spewer intended to have a delayed attack? It cant a single target. It seems to attack and then follow a half second behind it, hitting targets behind it, but never the actual target.
Also, for the sunken crawlers, the bottom three squares of them dont produce the creep. Im not sure if that is intended or a bug though. Just a heads up.
I believe I fixed the Eradicator. It is not supposed to attack (or damage) air.
You can still sell. I just did in a game. (shame on me) Also, still sometimes the Protecors (thors) just randomly disappear. No idea why though. And is the Eradicator shooting at air but 0 dmg intended? Also, would be nice to have like the protector to have splash against air.
I added punishment for attempting to build on the other team's side in LVR. As well, you should no longer be able to sell the towers of players who have left the game.
Well I think most people are just learning the map editor and didn't know everything about it like in WC3 so sure, saying to make left not be able to build on rights side or sell rights buildings when one leaves sounds great but doesn't mean it is easy to implement. I would prefer Vexal working on balance between the races and towers and waves before focusing on that. And is the incinerator not suppose to work against air? I was hoping it was like the lava spewer where it was a nice surprise that it does. It is more like a "There cake was a lie" moment. I mean, I see it shooting at air...it just doesnt do any dmg to it..
