Not too long ago, Neil Kaplan from Simon and Schuster released an Audio Book of William C. Deitz' new Starcraft book, Heaven's Devils. The first chapter begins with a report from Max Spear, a UNN News Caster, overviewing recent Kel-Morian attacks in the Koprulu Sector. Because of said attacks, increases in Military resources hinder Agricultural support, causing independent farmers to suffer financially. From here, we follow an 18 year old Jim Raynor, on the planet Shilo, where learn about rashioning and tax increases for protection against the Kel-Morian Combine. This chapter offers a decent amount of dialog as opposed to general back story. Fortunately, Kaplan does a nice job at differentiating between characters when dialog is going on and goes reads the book very clearly.
You can download and listen to the first chapter of the book at your own leisure here.

This announcement is great to add to the lore of the Starcraft universe. it should be interesting how Deception test Raynor's will to survive in this book. I am excited.
Great news, I really look forward to listen to this, because Starcraft have a huge potential for good stories to be written. I hope Heaven's Devils will introduce Tycus Finley (Jim Rynors's companion) and other interesting characters. And when the game comes out, campaign will be even more interesting. I only hope that narrator voice is fine and not annoying :)
I remember when we used to listen to these 3 hour radio dramas with the whole family. I've never again listened to an audio book since the coming of television and the computer. It would be great to hear one again, especially if it's StarCraft! Would be a great help on my running exercise :)
Its been ages since I last listened to an audio book (cassette tapes on long car journeys...those were the days)..would be interesting to hear some of the more recent books.
am so excited about this i been a starcraft fan for a long time and been waiting for it to come out!
This is really cool. I used to spend hours just reading about Starcraft Lore on sites such as starcraft.wikia.com lol. I'm actually planning on buying the physical book, maybe even the collectors edition because I'm liking the excerpts I read so far on the official SC2 website. I would love to win a copy of the audio book though as it will probably be a while before I buy the physical book.
