    But wont this dota also be a clone? I see don't see much more of a point in this recreated dota than in valve's dota 2 (or heros of newerth, for that matter). I generally dislike 1-to-1 clones of games (with some expection, like ports), and thats why I am trying to build a new Warcraft RTS game (call it 4, for now), instead of another Warcraft 3 remake of any sort, which contains new units, heros, mechanics, etc.

    Its coming along...ok. Would love some help though.

    I took them all from enUS this time, but now i have all 3 sc2 races and one blank. this is what my dependencies look like. (with or without the swarm(mod) dependency, its the same result).

    I know, but when I place a model in the editor, it is the old models, not the new HD models released by blizzard. When we play through SC2, we can choose to play with the new or old model. I want to simply always have the new models.

    Also, for the races, it has to do with question 2. When i do select any of the blank race options, its still zerg/terran/protoss, and not the warcraft 3 races. I imagine its because the units are not associated with their respective race.

    I have a few questions, and would love some help.

    1. How do we use the HD models of the heroes in the editor? When I place a hero, its always the old models used (and also when I test map).

    2. Is this normal?

    If not, how do I fix this? If it is, then still, how do i fix this?

    2.1 How do I associate all the new units to their respective races? So that I may actually select a race in the editor there and it'll show everything I associated to that race.

    Hey all,

    I have several questions that I really want to know the answer to. Before you go on, do know that I tried googling these problems but I couldn't find the combination of words that wouldn't lead me to something completely different from what I want. I COULD read the wikis and tutorials extensively but I wouldn't even have an idea where to start looking for these answers.

    First question; is it possible to make second "states" of already existing elements or mechanics without relying too much on triggers (or anything other than data) to make them? For example: Every time Unit Type A kills any other unit, he gains 1 counter. Unit B is the exact same, but gains 2 counter instead of 1 when it kills. Is there a way to put this type of effect in the Data editor, and whenever I want to create a similar unit type but with different counter-gaining values, I simply need to set the value to this new field (or what ever it may be) to 1, 2, or whatever else I want? I know this can be very easily done in the trigger editor, but I would like to make it much easier and faster to create.

    Second example, would be if its possible to make a second type of shield. Currently, theres the possibility to add the normal protoss shield. Is there a way to add another shield type in the Data editor so I can quickly create new units with this second type of shield (and not have to rely solely on triggers to do it).

    Same would go to a second type of "invisibility" that can only be detected with a second type of "true sight". Again, if it can be implemented into the data editor like:

    Unit is 2nd type invisible: True/False

    Unit is 2nd type Detector: True/False

    If all of this (or even part) is possible, can anybody explain how or point to a tutorial.

    I know it's kind of complicated what I am asking but I would be immensely grateful for any and all help given!

    Heeemm...I sorta tried :S cant do it. Its because the dude destroyed the ribbon through actor events that were specifically made to destroy them. There any event commands that create them so...ya...

    Theres a map from Stacraft 1 that I used to play all the time. It was undeniably my all-time favorite map. Sadly it wasnt imported to sc2 :( . But that doesnt surprise me cuz the map itself was horribly unbalanced but it was, nonetheless, an extremely fun map to play.

    So could I ask anyone here if they are willing to try and remake the map?

    Ok, I am frustrating myself so badly with just trying to find one small thing:

    How do we add a whole bunch of units to a unit group?

    I want to add my 16, already-put, Roaches into a variable (which is the group) but I really cant seem to be able. When I use "Add unit to unit group", I have to select each individual unit. By god I wont go and make 16 actions do add each and every unit to the group.

    How do we add a bunch of unit to a group in one or two triggers/actions?

    I was wondering if anyone has had success in adding a "tentacle" to a unit. By tentacle, I mean the ones that the Zerg have (the corruptors "tails", Infestors "mouth")?

    I now that its an effect called "Ribbon"(by searching in the previewer) but I just cant seem to find it in data and/or attach it.

    Any help?

    I have a question:

    Is there any maps or even any way to modify the behavior of a Computer AI? Like a map where we have the choice of which AI but, through the galaxy editor, we can change the general behavior of those AI?
