Alarak is the Blizzard answer to Darth Vader. He cares little for mortal life and likes big explosions. He is the highlord so gets to live the life of hedonistic desire (kills shit). Also with the chain of ascension if he is viewed as weak by his underlings they too many challenge him so in a way he was just doing like valerian and trying to keep the civilians happy.
Alarak is more like a mob boss, and i agree he's got to make good on whatever speech he just did to rouse his army of hot heads.
He would have killed off the golden armada back in LoTV, if only he hadnt sworn to have Artanis call the shots, iirc.
They havent fully explored how Nova feels about Valerian's rule, which they hinted at in pack 1. I guess they could have worked from that angle to make her disobedience much more solid.
Currently her murdering Davis doesnt make sense. Davis havnt done anything to her, yes she used her, but it seems she doesnt even mean anything to Davis. Nova has nothing to gain personally here.
They coukd have made Nova hate her for using her to destroy Tarsonis, or was that in pack 2?
It looks pretty nice, but I fear it might be a bit too detailed and without enough bold shapes recognizable from afar? How does it compare to say, alarak or artanis models in terms of detail?
I would imagine it will be like that of Nova's model in detail. This is intentional for when baking the textures and normal maps. The goal, I'm experimenting still, is aimed at getting to a Nova detail, if not a Heroes of the Storm level of detail.
My hopes is to have reduced work on the texture, a good AO and normal map detail, but I'm keeping fingers crossed as I'm not experienced in this workflow yet.
Dafuq? Just saying, if you see racist shit in stuff that isnt race related at all, maybe you should begin to question your own inner stance on the topic.
Glad you like the old-styled face though.
I do have an issue with it, tbh, from the receiving end. But it's not my point. It's completely racist to have to base diablo off of Draenor Orcs.
Orcs have always been seen as evil, and it shows. Why can't demons be different, and actually be reptilian? Mr. Icke would agree.
Sorry for the derail. I do love the old design. It's less, 'orcy' or terrestrial, or whatever you call it. Its mouth shape is closer to the goat head in those pentagrams.
I should get back to minding my own business now. Apologies, again.
The old Diablo is more of a dragon/serpentine/reptillian. I like it. The new ones seems like it comes from an artist's racism. I'm not gonna say it, but all these Big-bad shapes remind me of something.
I've tried it. It's fun, having the sci-fi setting. I just go to war, so no problems in the diplomacy for me. It's just like any other CIV game.
You build an empire, taking all the resource you can get, build and army, and rofl stomp the CPU players.
The time you spend building up is quite linear in CIV BE, unlike CIV V and VI, where you get a feel for when you progress through the ages.
Research, it also quite linear, though the three CIVs mentioned do suffer the same problem, CIV BE suffers the most.
The atmosphere/theme of the game is very cold, dead. Something about it feels strange, as if there's no life.
It's not challenging at all, imo. No need for strategy, just grab, build the plots, and repeat. I got bored with it on my first playthrough, and didn't think of wanting to get back and finish the session.
I don't know. Definitely get a demo or something before you buy. It's quite risky.

I'd like to keep them simple. Reserve them crystals for those higher ups. :D
Not right now. I try to minimize distraction since there's a lot of personal goals I want to accomplish before Armageddon comes. XD

Generic Conclave. For cinematic only.

I'm looking to make a beat sheet for nova c.o., and maybe a narrative breakdown, and maybe a character arc sheet. For reference, and study.
I'm thinking the trilogy was at a level with SW REBELS, a story for kids, even children from ages 8 to 12.

I have no idea how this is going to turn out though.
Anyway, Shelak Aldaris, and a variant Mal'Khar and Te'Mahr (for cinematic only).

On the reference: Who made that one?

I'm quite interested how the Fenix or Talandar lost his voice over the Purifier collective. And as to what their motivations could be.
Very nice.

It's just how I feel about the new diablo face.

I always thought protoss had tattoos. Khal drogo from GoT, comes to mind.
Somehow, the idea merges their tribal/nomadic ways, with high technology.
