    The infested was actually what I used in reference and then I used his portrait for the colors, I'll go ahead and make a white texture aswell and I found that the scientist has a admiral uniform look to it so I'll try that aswell.

    Example:

    Take a ghost, remove backpack or something, scale the gun maybe and then modify the animation. Then export it, in a video. This is obviously a delicate process so I think a video would be great. I've got over 40 hours trying this but nothing and it's got me ready to quit. I know there is stuff about converting to editable mesh and adding stuff. Also if someone is up for it a video of replacing a unit entirely (Remove marine and replace with zealot?) and rig it that would be great. A lot of people are missing out on this and we need this.

    You got Fenix right

    The three ghosts in the snow pic from left to right are Duran, Stukov and Kirk (new character)

    Cinderlisk (hydralisk firebat) Terminator (standard marine colored Tychus)

    Plus there are some unamed Heroes in there as well as retextured standard units to better match the dark awesomeness of the original Starcraft

    and almost all of them have portraits Fenix, Fury, Kirk, Duran, Cinderlisk, Dark Zealot and Templar

    I started my editor like normal today but all of a sudden all of my maps come out black and units only those spheres, I get an error list that takes 5 minutes loading all the files that are broken and even the regular ones (liberty campaign and liberty mod) are missing models and buttons. All terran buildings come out in purple with no textures. What happened and how do I fix this? Please don't tell me 6 months of work is gone now.

    OK so I have animating down, however when I use the model it's just black the original textures are gone and when I add my own textures in the material editor the model comes out glowing white. However animations do work.

    So I've searched religiously and found nothing that specifically tells you what to do to get unit textures on a model.

    Also I have come to understand that to edit a model from the game the only way to do this without rerigging the model is to only remove parts from the unit without adding anything. Am I supposed to convert the mesh into something before exporting?

    An example would be removing a gun from a unit. What steps do I take from the moment it's imported to the moment it's exported?

    Everything I've searched seems to be for people well experienced with Max and I need a step by step.

    OK for the textures after screwing with it I found out how to get the textures ingame.

    However I am confused about the fact that it shows the textures but the unit is now tinted team color and glowing like crazy. Anyone wanna help me out with that?

    OK so for anyone going through this in 3DSMax click on the mesh and then click m to bring up the material editor. Then go to the little ball with textures on it and go down to diffuse and click it. After that replace it with the new texture (which can have any name you want so as not to replace regular units) and select your texture.

    THE TEXTURE MUST BE IN 3DSMAX MAPS FOR THIS TO WORK.

    Hope this helps somebody.

    I appreciate the feedback, people on here aren't afraid of being honest and that really helps to get things right.

    First off I realize the name is garbage but I was having a brain meltdown trying to think of a name and it sounded awesome when Zeratul said it. I'll change it soon :)

    Unfortunatly there is little I can do for Duran other than give the general look of him. I'd love to pop a new head on there but editting the actual meshes and such is beyond my skill level at this point. Also with the zoom in the actual game you can't see that he has the mask on it just looks like goggles. Artanis is the zealot and come to think of it I wasn't planning on using him at all I was just making a bunch of stuff and threw him in there. Although I do plan on retexturing the zealot so arms and midsection are skin like the SC1 zealots. The terrain looks better than you'd expect since I have my own normal maps for it but it isn't as great as the default terrain. I figured since badlands-ish terrain was non-existent in SC2 I would give it a shot and I like it.

    I am so glad you liked the old Protoss as well, every single one was unique and a different color or something that made them awesome. While I won't complain too much about the new Protoss it did seem to be the same head with a different headdress every time. Now I gave it some thought and I won't lock it, but I will require people to tell me where it's going. I don't even care about people not creditting me it just gets me really really mad when they take the credit, it's a total slap in the face to someone who made their map a little bit better.

    Anyways like I said I appreciate the comments and though the process is slow, you guys should keep an eye on this :)
