posted a message on Requesting Trigger/Balance Help for Epic Micro Tug Of War Map

    Heya,

I'm looking for assistance with finishing a map I've been working on for a little while. This isn't a complete explanation of the map, but if you're interested in working on this with me based on what I've shown here, then get into touch with me and we'll collaborate (or I'll just give the project to you (please mention "Xeromyr" in the credits for map/concept design).

    Resources:

    Bio-Nanobots: (semi-functional, Vespene)

Story: All units are bio-synthetic clones or structures (except for "Energy" based units like the Wormhole, Wormhole Destabilizers, etc). Meaning, they are composed of trillions of nano-bots. Nano-bots are created at the Nanobot Assembler (passive vespene generation) or can be gathered from your enemies corpses, where they are then assembled into "Clones" at the "Cloning Pods" or the "Bio-Mechanical Facilities." Bio-Nanobots

Bandwidth: (semi-functional, Custom Resource - Supply)

Story: All units (except for heroes) operate through a Hive-mind. Meaning, all control is shared between allies, again except for heroes. In order to build units and to use some unit abilities, you need to have sufficient bandwidth in order to keep them functional. If ever your supply exceeds your available Bandwidth, -all- of your units will suffer a penalty to movement and attack speed. Further, if there is a large surplus of Bandwidth, all of your units will receive buffs (with diminishing returns) to their movement and attack speed.

    Bandwidth

Clones: (non-functional, supply + pylon field)

Story: Clones are required in order to build other units and to operate computers, thus increasing your available "Bandwidth." Each clone provides one supply. Further, in order to keep your "Wormhole Entrance" stabilized, or to keep your production buildings functional, you'll need to have a Clone working at a computer next to these buildings.

    Future Resource:Energy (non-functional, Custom Resource)

Story: Will be required for "Wormhole Hunter" and "Particle Accelerator Array" strength.

    Structures:

Cloning Pods: Story: This is where Clones are made. Nanobots are pumped into the "Cloning Pods" after they are assembled at the "Nanobot Assembler."

    Cloning Pods

    Particle Accelerator Array:

Story: This device keeps open the "Dimension Door" between you and your enemy. One of the "Victory" options will be to destroy your enemies entire Particle Accelerator Array. It utilizes the strength of stabilized of black holes in order to accelerate particles around them, thus keeping your dimension door open. This also means that if your units (and your enemies units) get too close to the Particle Accelerator Array, they will get sucked in, and destroyed.

    Dimension Door 2 of 2:

The Particle Accelerator Array is also a weapon in two different ways.

    1) It is the primary weapon that will be used to destroy your enemies Particle Accelerator Array (can be made stronger through upgrades). 2) It can also be used defensively in combination with "Kiting" your enemy near it, and blocking them inside of a "Energy Shield Wall" (activated through the Energy Wall Controller) close to your array. This aspect of the weapon sucks both your units and your enemies units.

    Units:

    Hero Units: Skipped

Energy Shield Controller (psi-indoctrinator in images above):

Story: Here you can activate Energy Shields in order to block your enemy from advancing into your base, or to trap them next to your Particle Accelerators.

    Wormhole Entrance:

Story: In order to send your troops to the battle field, they must enter through the Wormhole Entrance, and exit through the Wormhole Exit. A Wormhole Entrance requires Clones operating computers next to "Wormhole Stabilizers" in order to keep it open. Should the Wormhole entrance ever become completely destabilized, you'll lose the game.

    Wormhole Entrance

    Wormhole Exit:

Story: In order to send your troops to the battle field, they must enter through the Wormhole Entrance, and exit through the Wormhole Exit. The Wormhole Exit is a movable unit, and can be moved around anywhere on the battlefield (including your enemies side of the map). Later in the game, you'll be able to control multiple Wormhole Exits, which is an extremely important option to purchase if your enemy buys a Wormhole Destabilizer.

In the event your Wormhole gets destabilized or destroyed, you can purchase another one through your Wormhole Entrance.

    Wormhole Exit 1 of 2:

    Wormhole Exit 2 of 2:

    Wormhole Destabilizer:

A wormhole Destabilizer serves one purpose, and one purpose only. To destabilize the your enemies Wormhole Exits. It's extremely fast, can only attack Wormhole Exits, and it's A.I. will automatically hunt down an enemy Wormhole Exit anywhere on the map, so long as it is visible. You can turn off its A.I. and control it manually.

Limitations and additional info: Wormhole Destabilizers and additional Wormhole Exits are extremely expensive. You are limited to one less Destabilizers than the number of Exits your enemy has. Meaning, if your enemy has 5 Wormhole Exits, you can only have 4 Destabilizers.

    Wormhole Destabilizer

Anyway! If you're interested in what I've shown you so far, please get into touch with me, and we'll finish it. :)

    Thanks!
