    @tdhsst:

    Although player versus player would be interesting and thought of, it's not what the original map was, which is what this project is based off of. To get a true idea of the original, think DOTA with only one side having heroes, but the opposing side having fortifications and more spawns. But you do give me a few ideas to which I will look at expanding on.

    @DarlD:

    Never played Special Forces in depth, but to my understanding it was a group of players alone versus a single AI who controlled waves upon waves of Zerg or Protoss (sometimes Terrain depending on the map). In which case, yes, it's similar, but these kinds of maps were very popular during SC1.

    Of course, you'll always have more popularity if it's 100% Player controlled due to the high competitive nature of most SC2 players.

    Since it's been (almost) two years since an update of the remake of Normandy Invasion from the original Starcraft was announced, I have taken it upon myself to get started with my own remake of the old map.  For those of you who never played the original map, Normandy Invasion was a recreation of the storming of the beaches of Normandy, France, during the second World War.  Players would pick a Hero (Marine, Ghost, Firebat, Goliath, or Wraith) and fight alongside a computer ally (Allies) who sent endless waves of troops against an enemy computer (Germans) of endless waves.  Destroying key structures was required to move forward to the end, and occasionally respawns of said structures would occur, requiring players to backtrack and destroy them once more to continue the march.  Usually a single game would take a minimum of an hour, on average two hours, but once you completed the map, it was just awesome.

    I have come to the Mapster community to ask those who have played the original map, what did you like/dislike, want to see done, have the ability to do, etc. to get an idea of where the map should go in terms of playstyle.
