I would give it a try, but the video gameplay looked boring for me. Im not much of a card game fan, so, I dont know. Maybe not really my thing. Also how much skill is really involved in a game like this?. Just seems random with cards.
Well if you want the opinion of a previous Yu-Gi-Oh card collector, here's my opinion:
1. Customizing your deck is at least a third of the fun. Getting that last card to complete a set, or fully cover a fusion monster is extremely satisfying. Collecting/customizing/theorizing.
2. Playing with friends was also what I really enjoyed at TCGs/boardgames. The game's not extremely difficult, and is most of the time dependent on which cards you draw, but it's just plain fun. TCGs definitely aren't skill based in terms of Starcraft or even WoW, because essentially you're pitting different decks min/maxed for the player to draw the right cards in order to defeat the opponent. Comparing/Discovering/Playing. Also it "is p2w". There's no doubt Blizzard is going to milk this for money. Why else would they make the game? The trick is to balance the rarity and price/effort parity so that players don't feel like they can simply spend a couple of bucks to get the best cards. Cards should have levels of rarity, and ofc, Blizzard will add more cards as the game goes on. Trading with friends should be an option, but I don't know if Blizzard will implement that do to their track record of player micro control.
3. The art. Sometimes it's just nice to look at something shiny.
This... is really polished. Played it a ton in the last two days. Hope you consistently put out patches, but I think there may be some problems with balance so I'd keep an eye out for that. Not enough people play it right now though so I suggest everybody go rate and play. Deserves to be on the list.

Is it just me, or does Chris Metzen look way older. I almost didn't even recognize him. His voice is a bit lower and his hair a lot grayer.
Here's a full game of the TCG:

Seems pretty fun to me tbh.
