Since I'm horrible with regards to data: I just let the pros deal with that mes, and I just worry about the terraining aspect.
I generally do it as so: little bit of terrain, vague tileset brushing, throw in every doodad that I think I may need in one of the corners of the map, select a few to get an idea/feel for the map, continue with terraining till satisfaction (I reframe from using cliffset). Additionally: continue with doodad placement till I feel confident with adding more tileset bushing, add the final touches of aesthetic doodads, and then final touch ups with tileset brush.
I've had maps that I've nearly completed, then completely scrapped since the final idea wasn't appealing enough to share.
I'll give that guy a shot to this post.. hopefully he has a map already done, and I'll just revamp it like I did with Ghost Finder 2: just so it prevents conflict of interest.
I've made this map for a gentleman that wanted a "Thing" map called Ghost Finders 2. I had issues sending him the map, so he is either redoing the terrain brush, or possibly I'll find a way to send it eventually... I've made maps like: Cortex Roleplay - Low Orbital, Contex Roleplay - Infestation, Cortex Roleplay - Salvation ... etc.
I love using doodads, and even terraining: always had been a pleasure so far... So yeah, just looking for a way to take up free time. Thanks.
Hey, I have a question regarding specific doodads with height added to them... I haven't been able to get unis to walk through the Zerus Chrysalis Spike(s). Even going through object properties doesn't do anything. Any help would be great. I've tried going through the data editor, but found nothing about pathing about it.
TL;DR version: Trying to get units to walk under doodad, but it has height that I can't seem to remove.
I've tried duplicating the model to possibly bypass this issue, which had done nothing different from my needs.. besides a different name for the doodad.
Hmmm... This is something data related, for sure. These doodads have some kind of innate pathing, presumably because they mash with terrain in certain fashions. Perhaps the easiest option would be to create a new doodad based of a doodad with no pathing whatsoever, and to then change its model to the one used for this doodad.
I thought I tried that by duplicating the sphere model, and just added the previous model to it, which carried over the pathing along with it... Unless if I done something wrong.. which is very plausible, since I don't have too much knowledge with the data editor.

WTE? I'm sorry, I'm not up to date with some acronyms.

I focus on terrain and doodads mainly; nothing to do with triggers.

Hey.. I've been out of making Cortex Roleplay maps for a rather long time.. so I've started to think about making maps for others:
