i need more variation (colour, look) for the buildings. it is very monotonous. any ideas how to get a peaked roof?
any models out there that would fit my map?
and it's also possible to set the armor multiplicator of the 2nd buff to 0 to have an armor ignoring crit, just like in wc3. if some1 comes up with a dynamic damage response floating text actor thing i would be happy. i know it's easy with triggers to show red numbers.
i also had trees and sandback around the city. never counted them but around 2k would be a good guess i think. without houses about the half and i had a major improvement replacing them with doodads of the same model.
i always play on lowest settings and after i have changed the game run smoother.

you can check out my map "The Rising Dead". All houses were units on one of my earlier versions which caused definitly more lag than doodads do now.
i would use doodads for everything except if the blocking has to be dynamic. doodad's footprints and pathing stay after their death which is a major drawback.
nevertheless it also depends on the model itself. high poly models cause serious trouble, as units or doodads. so only use simple models
these things would be interesting but much better would be a inbuild bug report page.
for now players are able to write 1 comment to each map, that's it.
an additional page for bugs would be awesome, everyone can write a bug report as many as he likes. the map maker would be responsible for sorting the responses.
Visiting the map link, register to a forum and writing the feedback is just too much work.
i would like to share my work "The Rising Dead" to other realms than europe. I have spend alot of time to create,test and balance this map to get it where it is now.
The map is a "remake" (more a free interpretation) of the classic custom map "Notd II" from Warcraft III. A survival map with 8 different classes, saveable ranks and medals and 15 waves with lots of different creeps.

since i am not a very talented artist i wanted to ask if someone here would like to create a loadscreen for my map
"The Rising Dead".
I can offer a map that is frequently played (600 ratings at the moment, currently just on europe) . So your art will be seen by some people and you can place your name in big letters in any corner.
The screen should somehow contain a modern city, zombies, marines, weapons, cars. (not everything needed)
Hopefully someone is interested. A link to the map is in my signature.
does anybody know how to get textures out of a .3ds or .max file. when opening the material editor there appear no textures but applied colours to certain objects. is there any way to extract all those colours and create one big jpg (w/e) that acts like a texture?

wow i never thought about damage response as a solution to critical strike. that's close to genius :d. who had this idea first?

my idea was that blizz just adds a new window, just like the comments, but for bugs :d . saving in banks would take too long to find a bug at all.
