So I've imported textures for my previously imported model. I replaced one of the unit's actor model with my custom model. How do I apply the textures to this model? (The textures are .dds, everything is fine with them)
I remember reading something similar a few weeks back, turned out the person had two materials applied to a single mesh.
-First I would recommend flattening down or removing the BSDismember Skin Modifier
the Export seems to be very finicky about what modifiers it allows.
I tend to only leave Skin and UVW and flatten any edit poly/symmetry/etc down.
(If you are unfamiliar with 3DSmax, you can flatten modifiers by Right Clicking the Modifier and selecting Collapse To or Collapse All)
-Second, Test the Materials.
Open the Material Editor (Hotkey M) and select a New Material.
Change the Material Type from Standard to Starcraft 2 ( I would recommend not adding maps, if this works, the model will import as a shade of
white/pink)
Select your Entire Model and drag the new Material onto it. then choose apply to selection.
If the model is visible then you can go back to your Material and add your Maps accordingly.
-If that doesn't work, it might be something minor. I usually have to make a check list to make sure I don't forget anything.
Model is Editable Mesh (your good on that one)
Material type is Starcraft 2
All maps are in .DDS format
No objects are Hidden/Frozen
Exporter Options have Export Hidden/Frozen Objects Checked ( just incase)
Texture Path
Finally, an answer, thanks =). Will try everything what you said, though no materials show on the model when I open the materials tab, so I dunno if there is any point in making them starcraft type but k.
As for the minor things:
Model is Editable Mesh (your good on that one) - check
Material type is Starcraft 2 - have to do it
All maps are in .DDS format - ... this might be it
No objects are Hidden/Frozen - check
Exporter Options have Export Hidden/Frozen Objects Checked ( just incase) -check
Texture Path - where should it be?
Infact, can I remove the texture and apply it from the editor by importing it to the texture path in there?
Well, what exactly is it you're looking for? I could make you a full free camera system, where you can control almost anything you want in game, if that's something you'd like.
Yes. Telling me what to do or making it and giving it to me, whatever you want. I appreciate your help =). You're doing it via triggers, right?
In the editor, you can control the Z axis by holding alt and moving the mouse up and down or down. With triggers, Z offset is referenced as height offset, I think.
I know about the editor control, I'm talking about ingame. And I'm pretty sure the height offset would be just up and down, not rotating the camera.
How can I make it fully controlable? Well, the only thing you can't control is rotation on the Z axis, up and down, that is. I am making a trailer for my map so I need this, and I don't wanna bother doing cinematics and triggering lots of more units to do stuff than I need to this way.

Thanks, will check it out later today.

My model is black... Crap >.>. So I guess I'll have to figure out what was wrong when exporting.

Ok , I managed to get it into the editor :DD.
But I have another problem. Do you know how to remove those 3 lines sticking out from the model >.>? http://imageshack.us/f/822/93136424.png/
I yet have to add the animations again in Max and export it again, and import the textures into the editor.

I am hoping it's a simple trigger execution which causes camera rotation on x position when a certain button combo is pressed >.>?
Please tell me that's it.
